  14. 1. DESCRIPTION- CBSuite Super Suite of Components for Delphi 1 & 2
  15. ==================================================================
  16. CBSuite consists of 5 powerful Delpi component modules brought together
  17. in a single suite. It consists of the following modules which are
  18. also sold separately namely:
  19.  (1) Printit - A group of components for printing forms and Windows
  20.  (2) Reportit - A group of components for printing reports, files
  21.      and Memos.
  22.  (3) Sortit - An enhanced TDBGrid which allows for automatic sorting
  23.      by clicking on the headers. Also works with Printit and Reportit
  24.  (4) Graphit - A new group of components for generating, viewing and
  25.      printing various graphs. Also works together with Printit and
  26.      Sortit.
  27.  (5) Bandit - Enables you to print reports and/or forms. Database
  28.      details up to any depth with Totals + SubTotals. Can also print
  29.      3rdParty components.

  31. This copy of CBSuite  displays a UNREGISTERED COPY OF CBSuite message on the
  32. screen when preparing a printout and prints a UNREGISTERED COPY OF CBSuite
  33. message on all printouts if not registered. If you register, you will receive
  34. an activation code that disables the nag screen and nag message printed at the
  35. bottom of each printout. After an evaluation period of 30 days all other
  36. components will also display a nag screen.

  48. 2. DEFINITION OF SHAREWARE
  49. ---------------------------

  51. Shareware distribution gives users a chance to try software before buying it.
  52. If you try a Shareware program and continue using it, you are expected to
  53. register. Individual programs differ on details -- some request registration
  54. while others require it, some specify a maximum trial period. With registration
  55. , you get anything from the simple right to continue using the software to an
  56. updated program with printed manual.

  58. Copyright laws apply to both Shareware and commercial software, and the
  59. copyright holder retains all rights, with a few specific exceptions as
  60. stated below. Shareware authors are accomplished programmers, just like
  61. commercial authors, and the programs are of comparable quality. (In both
  62. cases, there are good programs and bad ones!) The main difference is in
  63. the method of distribution. The author specifically grants the right to
  64. copy and distribute the software, either to all and sundry or to a specific
  65. group. For example, some authors require written permission before a commercial
  66. disk vendor may copy their Shareware.

  68. Shareware is a distribution method, not a type of software. You should find
  69. software that suits your needs and pocketbook, whether it's commercial or
  70. Shareware. The Shareware system makes fitting your needs easier, because you
  71. can try before you buy. And because the overhead is low, prices are low also.
  72. Shareware has the ultimate money-back guarantee -- if you don't use the
  73. product, you don't pay for it.

  76. 3. DISCLAIMER - AGREEMENT

  79. Users of CBSuite must accept this disclaimer of warranty: "CBSuite is supplied
  80. as is.  The author disclaims all warranties, expressed or implied, including,
  81. without limitation, the warranties of merchantability and of fitness for any
  82. purpose. The author assumes no liability for damages, direct or consequential,
  83. which may result from the use of CBSuite." CBSuite is a "shareware product"
  84. and is provided at no charge to the user for evaluation.  Feel free to share
  85. it with your friends, but please do not give it away when registered. The
  86. essence of "user-supported" software is to provide personal computer users
  87. with quality software without high prices, and yet to provide incentive for
  88. programmers to continue to develop new products.  If you find this product
  89. useful and find that you are using CBSuite and continue to use CBSuite after
  90. a reasonable trial period, you must register it with Calitz Bros. through Kagi
  91. software or Compuserve.  This registration fee will license one copy for use
  92. on any one computer at any one time. The registration and the activation code
  93. will be valid for future minor upgrades,  bug fixes and enhancements to
  94. CBSuite Version 5.x.   When we have received your payment,  we will e-mail,
  95. fax or post your activation code to you. You must treat this software just
  96. like a book.  An example is that this software may be used by any number of
  97. people and may be freely moved from one computer location to another, so long
  98. as there is no possibility of it being used at one location while it's being
  99. used at another. Just as a book cannot be read by two different persons at
  100. the same time. Programs developed by using the CBSuite components may be
  101. distributed without any additional royalties.

  103. Commercial users of CBSuite must register and pay for their copies of CBSuite
  104. within 30 days of first use or their license is withdrawn.
  105.  
  106. Anyone distributing CBSuite for any kind of remuneration must first contact
  107. Calitz Bros. at the address below for authorization. This authorization will
  108. be automatically granted to shareware distributors, and such distributors
  109. may begin offering CBSuite immediately (However Calitz Bros. must still be
  110. advised so that the distributor can be kept up-to-date with the latest version
  111. of CBSuite.).

  113. CBSuite has a nag screen which displays when CBSuite is not registered. If not
  114. registered then the not registered message will also print on all reports and
  115. printouts. If registered the message on the reports will be replaced by the
  116. user's own wording or nothing if required.

  118. You are encouraged to pass a copy of CBSuite along to your friends for
  119. evaluation.  Please encourage them to register their copy if they find
  120. that they can use it.

  123. 4. THE ZIP FILES
  124. ----------------
  125. CBSuite consists of the following files:

  127. 1. SU1CP_16.ZIP - The 16-bit components for Delphi 1.x
  128. 2. SU1CP_32.ZIP - The 32-bit components for Delphi 2.x
  129. 3. SU1HLP.ZIP   - The .HLP and .KWF files
  130. 4. SU1SRC.ZIP   - Source code of the demos
  131. 5. SU1DEMO.ZIP  - Demo execuatable showing all 4 modules
  132. 6. REGISTER.ZIP - Register
  133. 7. ACTIVATE.ZIP - Activation program.
  134. 8. HISTORY.LOG  - History log of updates
  135.  
  136. The 16-bit components should be extracted into a separate directory
  137. than the 32-bit components.
  138.  
  139. 5. INSTALLING CBSUITE COMPONENTS
  140. --------------------------------
  141.  
  142. 5.1. Backup the component library file named COMPLIB.DCL in your \DELPHI\BIN
  143. directory.  This will allow you to restore your component library if you
  144. encounter any problems during the installation process.
  145.  
  146. 5.2. Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  147. Click on the Add button when the Install Components dialog is displayed.
  148.  
  149.      To install CBSuite,
  150.  
  151.             Click on the Browse button and select the file CBSUITE.PAS
  152.             in the directory where CBSuite  was installed, usually
  153.             C:\CBSuite\d16 (for Delphi 1.x) or C:\CBSuite\d32 (for
  154.             Delphi 2.x) development.
  155.  
  156. 5.3. Click on OK to return to the Install Components Dialog Box and click
  157. on OK to accept the changes.  DELPHI will now install the new components.
  158. A new page will be created on the component bar called  CBSuite that contains
  159. the new components.

  162. 6. INSTALLING THE KEYWORD HELP (To access from Delphi)
  163. ------------------------------------------------------
  164. 6.1     Copy all .KWF files to the \DELPHI\HELP directory
  165.  
  166. 6.2.    Execute the file  HELPINST.EXE  in the \DELPHI\HELP directory.
  167.  
  168. 6.3.    Select  File | Open  from the menu.
  169.  
  170. 6.4.    Open the file  DELPHI.HDX  in the  \DELPHI\BIN directory.
  171.  
  172. 6.5.    Select  Keywords |Add  Keyword file from the menu.
  173.  
  174. 6.6.    Select the files  CBSuite.KWF, Printit.KWF, Reportit.KWF,
  175.         Sortit.KWF, Graphit.KWF in the \DELPHI\BIN directory.

  177. 6.7.    Select  File | Save from the menu.

  180. Note:  To access help from the demos - Copy the help files named
  181. CBSuite.HLP, Printit.HLP, Reportit.HLP, Sortit.HLP and Graphit.HLP
  182. in the CBSuite directory to your windows directory.

  185. 7. REMOVING CBSuite COMPONENTS
  186. ------------------------------

  188. 7.1.  Start DELPHI and select Options | Install Components from the menu.
  189. Click on the CBSuite unit (to remove CBSuite) and then on the Remove button.
  190.  
  191. 7.2.  Click on OK to remove the components from the component bar.
  192.  
  193. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 1.x FOR 16 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  194. 7.3.    Remove the directory C:\CBSuite\d16 or the directory where CBSuite was
  195. installed.
  196.  
  197. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen
  198.

  201. IF YOU ARE USING DELPHI 2.x FOR 32 BIT DEVELOPMENT:
  202. 7.3.  Remove the directory C:\CBSuite\d32 or the directory where CBSuite was
  203. installed.

  205. 7.4.  Remove the icons and group from the Print Manager screen
  206.  
  207. 7.5.  Remove the complete directory C:\CBSuite to remove all trace of CBSuite

  210. 8. GENERAL INFORMATION

  213. CBSuite sells for $US150. See the registration information on how
  214. to register.  We reserve the right to change prices and program
  215. features without notice.
