What's on this CD-ROM
This CD-ROM contains the UnixWare 7.0.1 operating system and the
following software, documentation, and other information:
* SCO(R) ARCserve(R)/Open from Cheyenne(R) (arcserve)
Release notes, marketing literature, and other information about
the UnixWare 7 backup and restore component.
* Diskette images (images)
Images of all of the diskettes needed to install and troubleshoot
UnixWare 7.0.1, including boot, network installation, and HBA
diskettes.
* Java Development Kit for SCO Operating Systems (java_dk)
Release Notes for the Java Development Kit.
* NetWare Services (nws)
Installation instructions and release notes for NetWare Services.
* Support resources (support.txt)
A list of SCO and other public web, uucp, and fax services that
provide free information to support your UnixWare 7.0.1 system.
* Upgrade documentation (upgrade)
Information on how to migrate data from UnixWare 2.X and
OpenServer 5.X to UnixWare 7.

Licensing your system
Before installing UnixWare 7.0.1 from this CD-ROM, you must read and
agree to the SCO software license agreement, which is provided in
several different languages. (license/license.txt)

This CD-ROM provides product information in the following
directories:
arcserve SCO ARCserve/Open from Cheyenne
java_dk Java Development Kit for SCO Systems
nws NetWare Services
uw7 UnixWare 7.0.1
These product directories may provide the following types of
information:
+ Product-specific readme files with important information,
including how to access product marketing literature and
release and installation information. Files may include:
readme.htm: HTML format, readable with SCOhelp
or other suitable Internet browser,
such as Netscape Navigator or
Mosaic.
readme.txt: ASCII text format.
+ Product datasheets in the following possible formats:
mktglit/datasht.htm: HTML format, readable with SCOhelp or
other suitable Internet browser, such
as Netscape Navigator or Mosaic.
mktglit/datasht.pdf: Adobe(R) Acrobat(R) format.
mktglit/datasht.txt: ASCII text format.
+ Product documentation in PostScript(R) format:
ps_doc/<book>/<file>.ps.gz: Each book is provided in its own subdirectory.
Each book directory can contain multiple
PostScript files, which are compressed using
GNUzip. Refer to the readme file in the
product directory for information on
uncompressing and printing these files.
+ Product release and installation information. Files may
include:
relnotes/relnotes.ps: PostScript(R) format.
relnotes/relnotes.txt: ASCII text format.
relnotes/relnotes.htm: HTML format.
NOTE: Some relnotes directories may provide HTML files for
the product release and installation information in a
subdirectory. See the product-specific readme.htm or
readme.txt file for information on how to access these HTML
files.
The files in the product directories are provided in multiple
formats to offer you a range of choices for viewing them. If you
have mounted the CD-ROM and are reading it from a UNIX system,
specify the mount point directory (e.g., /cdrom) in the path to
the filename. For example, to view the readme file for xdrivers:
- run netscape and open /cdrom/info/xdrivers/readme.txt
OR
- run more /cdrom/info/xdrivers/readme.txt from the command
line
To access this file from a Windows system, you could double-click
on the readme.txt file icon in D:\info\xdrivers or open the file
for viewing in NotePad or Microsoft Word.
* The license directory
This directory provides product license agreements and licenses
for the supplements on this CD-ROM:
license.htm and The HTML and ASCII versions of the SCO software
license.txt license agreement. You must read and accept
this license to use any of the UnixWare 7 Optional
Services on this CD-ROM. This document provides
the agreement in English, German, French, and
Spanish.
