  22.      RAV Professional: RAVPRxxx.ZIP, where xxx is the version
  23.      number. For example, version 6.xy would be RAVPR6xy.ZIP. Of
  24.      course, other file name extensions are perfectly acceptable
  25.      when compression programs other than PKZIP are used.

  33.      SHORT DESCRIPTION

  35.      Romanian AntiVirus combines a powerful scanner and a code
  36.      emulator creating a product able to detect most advanced
  37.      polymorphic, macro and Java viruses. With versions of DOS,
  38.      Win95/98/NT, Windows NT Server, Novel NetWare  and OS/2,
  39.      Romanian AntiVirus is able to detect over 14000 computer
  40.      viruses. The registered version also includes data recovery
  41.      programs, utilities to backup system areas and virus
  42.      analysis tools.

  45.      LONG DESCRIPTION
  46.  
  47.      Romanian AntiVirus is a computer antivirus program able to
  48.      detect and clean most viruses kinds, such as polymorphic,
  49.      macro and Java viruses.
  50.  
  51.      The polymorphic viruses are handled by the powerful RACE
  52.      (RAV's Advanced Code Emulator) engine. RACE is capable of
  53.      detecting most complex polymorphic viruses, and it's
  54.      impressive detection rate is confirmed by various
  55.      independent reviews of Romanian AntiVirus.

  57.      Macro viruses, which are today's primary problem, are
  58.      detected by the Romanian AntiVirus Macro engine (codenamed
  59.      RAMe). The Romanian AntiVirus Macro Engine is not only able
  60.      to detect known macro viruses that infect Word, Excel
  61.      Word97, Excel97 and Access97, but it is also capable of
  62.      detecting new macro viruses using state of the art
  63.      heuristics. RAMe is also able to clean macro viruses, making
  64.      it easy for you to recover from a virus infection.

  66.      The Romanian AntiVirus Java engine, (JEDI - Java Enhanced
  67.      Disassembler/ Interpreter) is able to exactly detect Java
  68.      viruses and malware, and of course to clean Java viruses, a
  69.      facility maybe unique in the world.

  71.      Beside the above mentioned modules, Romanian AntiVirus
  72.      includes heuristic methods to detect new or unknown viruses
  73.      in memory, such as the Bait Analysis and the AntiStealth
  74.      tests.

  77.      as Windows95/98/NT, DOS, Windows NT Server, Novell NetWare

  92.      Costs vary and depend on country. Please refer to the
  93.      relevant ORDER_*.TXT file. The benefits of ordering the
  94.      licensed product include the latest version of the software,

  96.      Romanian AntiVirus, minor upgrades for free, major upgrades
  97.      at discounted prices and product lifetime support provided

  101.      DISTRIBUTION REQUIREMENTS

  103.      The Romanian AntiVirus software and the accompanying
  104.      documentation are shareware. You may make as many copies of
  105.      the software as you wish, give them to others, upload them
  106.      to any BBS or FTP site worldwide, include them in software
  107.      collections such as CD-ROM disks, distribute them through
  108.      Disk-of-the-Month (or Subscription) Distribution, and
  109.      distribute them in any other possible way, as long as you
  110.      meet the following restrictions:

  113.      1. Distribution is allowed only if the package is complete.
  114.      Please contact GeCAD srl to obtain a complete shareware
  115.      package suitable for distribution. You may download anytime
  116.      Romanian AntiVirus from our shareware site:

  120.      If the version you have obtained is over 3 months old,
  121.      please contact GeCAD srl to ensure that you have the most
  122.      current version. This version was released in October,
  123.      1998.

  125.      2. The shareware version of Romanian AntiVirus may be
  126.      distributed freely. Disk Vendors, Computer Clubs, BBSs and
  127.      other vendors may charge a nominal fee for distribution of
  128.      the program. The recipient of Romanian AntiVirus must be
  129.      informed, in advance, that the fee paid to acquire Romanian
  130.      AntiVirus does not relieve the recipient from purchasing the
  131.      licensed version of Romanian AntiVirus if the recipient
  132.      continues to use Romanian AntiVirus.

  134.      3. The shareware version of Romanian AntiVirus may not be
  135.      sold or licensed. Neither may a fee be charged for its use.

  137.      4. Neither the software nor its documentation may be amended
  138.      or altered in any way.

  140.      5. Many BBSs and FTP sites add a small text file
  141.      (advertisement) to each archived file. Other BBSs add a
  142.      small message with their BBS name and phone number into the
  143.      compressed file, which will display when the file is
  144.      uncompressed. Either of these methods of mentioning your BBS
  145.      or FTP site are acceptable and may be used, provided the
  146.      program and documentation is otherwise unmodified and
  147.      complete.

  149.      6. You may not list Romanian AntiVirus in advertisements,
  150.      catalogs, or other literature which describes our product as
  151.      "free software". Shareware is "try before you buy" software,
  152.      it is not free.

  154.      7. By granting you the right to distribute the shareware
  155.      version of Romanian AntiVirus, you do not become the owner
  156.      of this software in any form.

  158.      Distributing the Romanian AntiVirus software means that you
  159.      agree to these conditions.

  162.      shareware version of Romanian AntiVirus is expressly
  163.      forbidden without the written permission of GeCAD srl. All

  169.      Romanian AntiVirus is owned and copyrighted by GeCAD and is
  170.      protected by international copyright laws and international
  171.      treaties. GeCAD reserves all the rights regarding Romanian
  172.      AntiVirus. GeCAD authorizes usage of Romanian AntiVirus only
  173.      in accordance with the terms and conditions stated in this
  174.      agreement. You may not remove any copyright or proprietary
  175.      notices from the Romanian AntiVirus.

  178.      TRADEMARKS

  180.      The Romanian AntiVirus software is a registered trademark of
  181.      GeCAD srl. All other product names mentioned are
  182.      acknowledged to be the marks of their producing companies.

  185.      EVALUATION PERIOD

  187.      You may use a shareware copy of the Romanian AntiVirus
  188.      software for evaluation period of up to 30 days. The purpose
  189.      of this evaluation period is to allow you to determine
  190.      whether the program meets your needs before purchasing it.
  191.      Once the evaluation period has ended, you agree to either
  192.      purchase the full product, or to stop using it.

  197.      GeCAD reserves the right to update the contents of Romanian
  198.      AntiVirus and its associated files, documentation and/or
  199.      other elements, at its discretion from time to time, without
  200.      the consent of or any obligation to, any licensed users or
  201.      distributors.

  204.      WARRANTY

  206.      ROMANIAN ANTIVIRUS IS PROVIDED "AS-IS". NO WARRANTIES OF ANY
  207.      KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO,
  208.      IMPLIED WARRANTIES, OF MERCHANTABILITY OR FITNESS FOR ANY
  209.      PURPOSE WITH RESPECT TO THE SOFTWARE ARE MADE AS TO IT OR
  210.      ANY MEDIUM IT MAY BE ON. GECAD DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE
  211.      OPERATION OF ROMANIAN ANTIVIRUS WILL BE ERROR FREE OR MEET
  212.      ANY REQUIREMENTS. THE WARRANTY SET FORTH ABOVE IS IN LIEU OF
  213.      ALL OTHER  WARRANTIES WHETHER ORAL OR WRITTEN. NO ONE BUT
  214.      AUTHOR IS AUTHORISED TO MAKE MODIFICATIONS OR ADDITIONS TO

  217.      REMEDIES. GECAD WILL NOT BE LIABLE AND WILL PROVIDE NO

  226.      INDEMNIFICATION

  228.      You hereby agree to indemnify, hold harmless and defend
  229.      GeCAD, owners' family, relatives, licensees, sub-licensees,
  230.      distributors and lawyers against any and all damages,
  231.      losses, claims, courses of action, lawsuits, liabilities,
  232.      judgements and all expenses arising from, resulting to, or
  233.      in connection with a breach of this AGREEMENT by you and
  234.      arising from, relating to, or in connection with your use or
  235.      non-use of ROMANIAN ANTIVIRUS.

  238.      RESTRICTED RIGHTS
  239.  
  240.      Romanian AntiVirus and any related documentation is provided
  241.      with restricted and limited rights. Use, duplication and
  242.      disclosure by U.S. Government is subject to restrictions as
  243.      set forth in the subdivision (b)(3)(ii) of the Rights in
  244.      Technical Data and Computer Software Clause at 252.227-7013.
  245.      If you are using this software outside the U.S. you agree to
  246.      be bound by the applicable law in your country.

  249.      TERM

  251.      Your right to distribute the shareware package terminates
  252.      automatically if you violate any part of this agreement
  253.      without notice from GeCAD. You can also terminate this
  254.      agreement at any time you wish.

  257.      BY DISTRIBUTING THE SHAREWARE PACKAGE YOU ACKNOWLEDGE THAT
  258.      YOU HAVE READ AND UNDERSTOOD THIS AGREEMENT AND YOU AGREE TO
  259.      BE BOUND BY THIS AGREEMENT'S TERMS AND CONDITIONS. YOU ALSO
  260.      AGREE THAT THIS AGREEMENT IS THE COMPLETE AND EXCLUSIVE
  261.      STATEMENT OF THE RIGHTS AND LIABILITIES OF THE PARTIES AND
  262.      SUPERSEDES ALL PROPOSALS OR PRIOR AGREEMENTS, ORAL OR
  263.      WRITTEN AND ANY OTHER COMMUNICATION BETWEEN THE PARTIES
  264.      RELATING TO THE SUBJECT MATTER OF THIS AGREEMENT.

  266.      If you do not agree with the terms and conditions of this
  267.      AGREEMENT or do not understand any of them you should not
  268.      distribute the shareware package.
