  13. UPGRADING: If you are upgrading to version 1.83 or higher from a lower version, make a copy
  14. of your popit.ini file that is located in the folder where POPIt (popit.exe) resides. It
  15. contains the current POPIt client configuration. Once you have completed the
  16. installation below, copy the popit.ini file back into the POPIt folder to restore all the
  17. original settings.
  18. Failure to follow these steps may result in losing your current configuration,
  19. requiring you to re-enter the client profile configurations again.
  20. NOTE: POPIt version 1.83 and higher use the registry for program configuration and
  21. registration, so there will be no POPI.INI file available.

  23.    1.Create a suitable folder on your hard drive such as C:\POPIT. All the files that POPIt
  24.      will require will be in this folder.

  26.    2.Un-Zip the compressed file popit.zip into that folder.
  27.      
  28.       The following files should be expanded: 
  29.         popit.exe
  30.                        The application.
  31.         piicon.dll
  32.                        Custom icon resource file that POPIt requires.
  33.         call32.dll
  34.                        A public domain library by Don Bradner to interface a 16bit
  35.                        application into Win95 and NT 4.0.
  36.         cswskctl.vbx
  37.                        A freeware library from Catalyst Software for winsock control.
  38.         msghook.vbx
  39.                        A freeware library from ActiveXpert for intercepting windows
  40.                        messages.
  41.         vbio.vbx
  42.                        A freeware library by SheAr Software for reading the hard-drive
  43.                        serial number (for registration protection).
  44.         uucode16.dll
  45.                        Public Domain UUEncode / Decode library for encoding attachments.
  46.         spamlist.PPI
  47.                        Productive Programming supplied list of known spammers.

  64.    3.Create the appropriate Shortcut for POPIt by dragging the EXE file into the desired
  65.    folder. To have POPIt start automatically when Windows 95 / NT 4.0 starts, drag a
