  8. What the Program Is and What You Need To Use It
  9. ---- --- ------- -- --- ---- --- ---- -- --- --
  10. Music Draw is a Microsoft Windows(TM) 3.1 based music entry 
  11. program which lets you enter MIDI information in an easy way.  
  12. The user interface is object oriented and much information is 
  13. hidden so creating a song by mouse doesn't have to be a lot of 
  14. work.  This program is NOT a sequencer or a music notation 
  15. program, though it may look like one in certain ways.
  16.  
  17. To run Music Draw, you will need (minimum):
  18.  
  19. -    GS Standard MIDI Synthesizer
  20. -    MIDI I/O Board (could be combined with synthesizer)
  21. -    Windows 3.1 with drivers for MIDI I/O Board
  22. -    Minimum of 2 Mbyte of RAM (probably 4)
  23. -    Color VGA display
  24. -    Mouse (2 Button minimum)
  25.  
  26. Windows 3.1 must be configured as follows:
  27.  
  28. -    MIDI driver for I/O is installed and working
  29. -    "MIDI Mapper" is installed and configured for GS Synthesizer
  30. -    have the following fonts installed (default Windows 3.1)
  31.     -    MS Sans Serif
  32.     -    Arial
  33.  
  34. Music Draw is designed for the Roland SCC-1 GS Sound Card, which 
  35. sounds great and integrates a MIDI I/O card with the sound board 
  36. as well.  Any other GS (or to some extent, a General MIDI) synth
  37. will do as well.

  45.      The Music Draw software and documentation package is provided on
  46. an AS-IS basis for use with NO guarantee or warranty of proper 
  47. operation.  You, the user of Music Draw, assume ALL risks of damages 
  48. and results upon installing and using Music Draw.  Installation or 
  49. usage of this product constitutes your acceptance of all terms and 
  50. conditions for Music Draw.

  52.      BunkCo does not warrant the fitness of Music Draw for operation.  
  53. BunkCo does not and cannot warrant operation of Music Draw will be 
  54. error-free or uninterrupted.  Under ABSOLUTELY NO circumstances will 
  55. BunkCo be liable to you for ANY damages, including lost profits, lost 
  56. savings, of any other incidental or consequential damages arising 
  57. out of the use or failure of Music Draw, even if BunkCo is advised 
  58. of the possibility of any damages.  BunkCo disclaims all other 
  59. warranties in regards to Music Draw.  In no event shall BunkCo's 
  60. liability for any damages ever exceed the price paid for the license 
  61. to use the software, regardless of the form of the claim.  Even if any 
  62. provision of any term or condition specified is found invalid, 
  63. void, or unenforceable, the validity of the balance of the terms 
  64. and conditions shall remain valid and enforceable according to 
  65. its terms.  Any action or proceeding brought by either party against
  66. the other arising out of or related to the warranty shall be brought
  67. only in a State or Federal Court of competent jurisdiction located in
  68. Ventura County, California.  The parties hereby agree to in 
  69. personam jurisdiction of said courts.

  71.      Look, BunkCo is NOT responsible for anything.  If you do not or 
  72. cannot accept all terms and conditions specified, please REMOVE 
  73. Music Draw from your computer RIGHT NOW (for either the shareware 
  74. version or the registered version) and consult where you purchased 
  75. Music Draw (registered version only) for a refund.

  77. Installation Procedures:
  78. ------------ -----------
  79. Run INSTALL.EXE under Windows(TM) 3.1.  Select which drive you want
  80. to install Music Draw to and press the "INSTALL" button.  The
  81. installation will then proceed to completion.

  83. The installation program should copy all Music Draw files to a
  84. subdirectory called 'MUSDRW' under the root of the selected drive.
  85. A new program group called MusicDraw with an icon of the same
  86. name should be created in the Program Manager (or whatever 
  87. Program Manager compatible shell you're using.)

  89. If you are asked to check the files during installation, the files
  90. which should be present under the same path as the installation 
  91. program are:

  95.   - musdrw.exe
  96.   - musdrw.hlp
  97.   - readme.txt (this file)

  101. To Run Music Draw:

  103. Double click on the Music Draw icon with the Music Draw group in 
  104. Program Manager to start the program.
  105.  
  106. If the software is copied onto the hard disk and no Music Draw icon 
  107. exists (installation problem), manually create a Program Manager entry 
  108. before starting Music Draw.

  111. How to Use Music Draw:

  113. Currently, a on-line help file which describes how to use Music Draw
  114. is available under Music Draw.  To use the on-line help, select the 
  115. "HELP" menu and the "INDEX" menu item to view the help file.
