  10. Palm Farmer consists of seven applications that work in cooperation. Each
  11. application shares common characteristics and data with the others. Overall, the
  12. Palm Farmer system delivers an excellent record keeping system, customized for
  13. the farmer.

  16. Overview
  17. ========
  18.  
  19. When opened, each Palm Farmer application presents a list of previously recorded
  20. entries.
  21.     The Page icon creates a new record.
  22.     The Trash icon deletes the selected record.
  23.     The Pencil icon edits the record.
  24.     The Total button provides an easy way to calculate totals of activity.
  25.     Sort the list by tapping the name at the top of each column.
  26.     If a choice is absent from a list, simply add by choosing "Edit Choices╔"

  30. Palm Farmer Programs

  33. Fields
  34. ------
  35. This application creates separate Field records. Each Field record can
  36. keep track of crops, acres, and ID numbers. Generally, picking a Field name from
  37. a list in a Palm Farmer application automatically enters its acres, crops, etc.
  38. < Note! > Enter at least one Field record before entering records in the other
  39. Palm Farmer applications.

  41. Seeding
  42. -------
  43. With this application, track events of seed planting. Enter the field,
  44. variety, target number of plants per acre, the amount of seeds per pound, and
  45. the rate of germination. Palm Farmer will calculate the amount of seed needed to
  46. cover the field and the amount of seed for each acre.

  48. Water
  49. -----
  50. Track watering events with field, date, acres watered, amount of water,
  51. and or acre-feet.

  53. Work
  54. ----
  55. This application tracks work related events. Pick the field, type of
  56. work, the amount of work done, and an expense rate. Palm Farmer will calculate
  57. the actual expense dollars.

  59. Yields
  60. ------
  61. Tracking yields is simple with this application, pick the field, date,
  62. acres and amount of yield. Palm Farmer calculates the amount of yield per acre.

  64. Apply
  65. -----
  66. This application tracks field application events. All the pertinent info
  67. is tracked, from dates and acres to method, rates and applicators.
  68. < Note! > The Apply application uses records from the Materials application to
  69. automatically enter some data. Choosing from the Type List changes the Materials
  70. List. It only shows those types of materials.

  72. Materials

  74. With this application, enter the name, type and manufacturer of the different
  75.  materials applied to fields. Information from this application appears
  76. in the Apply application.
