  8. Image Page Wizard is a program that looks in the directory you select, and
  9. display all images files found in the directory on a HTML page.
  10.  
  11. The main reason this program was created was to compare images I wanted to use
  12. on the ScreenSaver Directory (http://www.screensavers.free-online.co.uk). At
  13. that time I released it as Freeware through the Internet, for other people to
  14. try out. Following this I had a lot of encouraging feedback which kept the
  15. development of the program open.

  17. This latest version builds up (technically) on previous versions by adding the
  18. features that users requested. The program is 100% new code. Some algorithms
  19. used in the 1.5x versions have been updated for efficiency, and adjusted to
  20. allow the new implemented features.

  22. A new feature in this version is the browser data files. This feature allows
  23. you to create files that will work on your browser. Due to the differences in
  24. browsers, not all browsers support the same list of file types. This feature
  25. was implemented to allow me to add support for new browsers, without having to
  26. edit and distribute another full copy. This way an update of just a few
  27. kilobytes can be downloaded and installed.

  30. Installation

  33. The program comes in an installation package created by "Paquet Builder" made
  34. by "G.D.G. Software" (http://www.gdgsoft.com). You just have to run the
  35. package and follow the onscreen instructions.

  37. It is recommended to uninstall version 1.x of Image Page Wizard before
  38. installing this version, otherwise redundant files will be left on your hard
  39. drive. It is not required to delete 2.0 BETA versions, as the main data files
  40. have not changed.

  43. Uninstallation
  44. --------------

  46. Image Page Wizard has a built in Uninstall module. This can be run through the
  47. "Add/Remove Programs" control panel by choosing "Image Page Wizard 2.0".

  49. The first step of the Uninstaller removes all files other than the uninstaller.
  50. When you restart your computer, the uninstaller and directory of Image Page
  51. Wizard are removed.

  53. The efficiency of the uninstaller is not always present. In the testing of the 
  54. uninstaller, it has sometimes failed to remove the left-over files upon exitting
  55. Windows. You may be required to delete these manually.

  58. Using Image Page Wizard
  59. -----------------------

  61. To create a basic Image Page, all you have to do is enter the folder that
  62. contains the images in the top entry area and click on "Create Image Page".

  64. There are many options available in Image Page Wizard...
  65.  
  66. + Input Directory Options:
  67. '- Sub-directories. Specifies whether sub-directories are searched for images.
  68.   (Currently searches only one level of sub-directories.)

  70. + Processing Options:
  71. '- Browser file. Specifies which browser file to use.
  72. '- Height settings and Linking. Allows the image to be scaled down on the page.
  73.   (The images are scaled down in dimensions only! The actual image is not
  74.   touched.)

  76. + Output Directory Options:
  77. '- HTML File Name. The file, the Image page should be saved to.
  78. '- Compress Spaces (in file names). Useful when uploading to Internet servers.

  84. I have tried my best to keep Image Page Wizard as free of bugs as possible, but
  85. once in a while, they do slip in. If you encounter once, please report it to me
  86. by e-mail (support@screensavers.free-online.co.uk). Tell me the exact version,
  87. as stated in the About dialog of the program, and a description of how the
  88. problem occured.

  100. The latest version has been built using the comments and suggestions of users
  101. using the previous versions. I always look forward to e-mails about Image Page
  102. Wizard, and try to respond to them. Many of the features in this version of
  103. Image Page Wizard have been implemented because of user requests!
