  8. This text documentation for Image Page Wizard complements the "readme.txt" and
  9. helps you with any problems you may have while using Image Page Wizard.

  12. Known Problems
  13. --------------

  15. * When running Image Page Wizard, with the Compress Spaces and Backup options
  16.  on, some files may seem to have not been preserved, ie. there are not two
  17.  copies (the original and new files). This is due to the way Windows handles
  18.  file names. Actually, in DOS format, these file names have no spaces, and
  19.  unlike long file names there is no tilde (~). So, the process of copying will
  20.  just copy the file over itself, and somehow the Windows version of the file
  21.  name is preserved. A temporary fix for this problem is needed, and will be
  22.  issued in a later release.

  24. * Your browser may "struggle" with image pages containing many number of
  25.  images. This is due to the rendering of the page, and swap file optimisation.
  26.  Windows will increase the size of the swap file to allow these images to
  27.  display, which will slow down the system. A possible fix is to have a swap
  28.  file which is big enough to hold the page without resizing.
  29.  
  30. * You may not use the "Compress Spaces" and "Include Sub-directories" options
  31.  together. If you choose the Compress Spaces option, the Sub-directories will
  32.  not be included and the control will be disabled. This is due to the way the
  33.  two modules work. A fix will be implemented in a future version.

  35. * On some machines, the final part of the uninstallation which deletes the
  36.  Image Page Wizard directory and executable, does not seem to work. I will
  37.  look into this, and issue a fix.

  40. Error Messages
  41. --------------

  43. "An internal Visual DialogScript error has occurred!":
  44.  This is usually caused by a programming error on my part. Contact me with the
  45. version of Image Page Wizard you are using, and how you caused the error
  46. message.
  47.  
  48. "Unexpected response!":
  49.  If code isn't doing as expected, this error message will be displayed. This is
  50. usually an error which I can not fix, however if you contact me with the
  51. version number of Image Page Wizard, how the error occurred, and the word(s)
  52. displayed underneath the message, I may be able to help!
  53.  
  54. "Could not load <file>!":
  55.  I do not expect this error message to occur, but could be caused if you are
  56. not allowed to read the file. Contact your system/network administrator to
  57. ensure that you have permission to read the file.
  58.  
  59. "Could not save <file>!":
  60.  This error message occurs if you do not have permission to write on the drive/
  61. directory Image Page Wizard resides on. It is not a vital error, but just means
  62. that many of the "history" features of Image Page Wizard are only valid for the
  63. current Image Page Wizard session.

  65. "<file> not found!":
  66.  This is a message from the Auto-Repair feature of Image Page Wizard. The error
  67. message will indicate whether or not the files have been created. If the file
  68. was not created, you may not have permission to write to the drive/directory
  69. on which Image Page Wizard resides on.

  71. "Could not retrieve the list of files in <directory>!":
  72.  This message is not expected on most home computers, but has been included for
  73. safety. It usually occurs if you do not have permission to read the drive/
  74. directory.

  76. "<file> is missing!":
  77.  This message is also not expected, but here for safety. Auto-repair usually
  78. ensures files are created upon loading, but if a file is lost during operation,
  79. the error will be displayed.
  80.  
  81. "<file1> could not be renamed to <file2>!":
  82.  A file could not be renamed. You will have to do this manually after the Image
  83. Page has been created.
  84.  
  85. "<file1> could not be cloned to <file2>!":
  86.  A back up of <file1> with the name <file2> could not be created. You will have
  87. to do this manually.
