  10. Manage home, work and email addresses, home and work tel/fax numbers,
  11. family relationships, birth and marriage dates. Export/Import to/from
  12. text files, CompuServe Address Book. Share home/work addresses and
  13. telephone numbers, auto-fill partial entries (EasyFill), customize
  14. EasyLists to view, edit and print only the attributes you want,
  15. quickly lookup information (EasyLook), print custom labels, and more.

  20. LONG DESCRIPTION

  23. EasyManager For Windows manages personal information, and
  24. export/import the relevant information to text files and other
  25. programs like CompuServe Address Book, etc.
  26.  
  27. Apart from the personal information like postal addresses,
  28. unlimited telephone/fax numbers, you can also keep family
  29. relationships for persons so you don't have to separately
  30. remember the names and other details of your friends/relatives'
  31. spouses and their children. You can share home addresses and
  32. telephone/fax numbers amongst persons living together so you do
  33. not have to worry about entering the same information multiple
  34. times and maintaining consistency.

  36. You can easily enter, view and print personal information on
  37. Persons and Businesses. You can create your own Lists and Labels.

  39. You can export/import data to/from text files and CompuServe
  40. Information Manager Address Book.

  136. REQUIREMENTS

  139. Windows 3.1 or higher running on 386 or higher IBM PC or
  140. compatible. At Least 2 MB RAM required. 4 MB recommended.

  144. INSTALLATION
  145. ------------
  146.  
  147. If installing from the EZMGRxx.ZIP file:
  148.  
  149. 1. Unzip the package by PKUNZIP or any other compatible UNZIP
  150.    utility. Unpack it in a directory which is not going to be the
  151.    final destination directory where EasyManager For Windows will
  152.    be installed.
  153.  
  154. 2. Run install.exe from within Windows Program Manager as
  155.    install.exe. [This step is needed to copy all the files to
  156.    your destination directory, and to create a Program Group]
  157.  
  158. If installing from EasyManager For Windows floppy diskette:
  159.  
  160. 1. Insert the diskette to the appropriate drive
  161. 2. Run install.exe from within windows Program manager as
  162.    a:\install.exe.
  163.

  165. Installation Notes:
  166.  
  167. NOTE 1: During installation, do not specify destination directory
  168.     same as source directory. It will confuse the
  169.     installation program.
  170.  
  171. NOTE 2: If you had previously installed EasyManager For Windows
  172.     and you still have the EasyManager For Windows Program
  173.     Group in the Program Manager, delete the Group first
  174.     before beginning installation.

  178. GENERAL ADVICE
  179. --------------
  180.  
  181. These are suggestions for new users to help them get started
  182. quickly and avoid pit falls later on. Ofcourse, you can come up
  183. with your own set of rules depending on your style.
  184.  
  185.  - Before starting, read the Help item "Getting Started".
  186.  
  187.  - Set your preferences. You can get to the Preferences Dialog
  188.    from "Edit -> Preferences" menu item.
  189.  
  190.  - It is easiest to enter information using EasyLists. Design
  191.    your own EasyList depending on what kind of information you
  192.    want to enter at one time. Some predefined EasyLists are
  193.    already provided for your convenience. You can define new
  194.    EasyLists or edit the definition of an existing EasyLists by
  195.    clicking on "EasyLists -> Define EasyList..." menu item.
  196.  
  197.  - Create Person objects to store information of people like
  198.    their home, work and email addresses, telephone and fax
  199.    numbers, family relationships, age, date of birth and
  200.    marriage, etc.

  202.  - Create a Business object if you only want to store information
  203.    NOT associated with a person but is associated with a business
  204.    entity. You can store business name, postal and email address,
  205.    telephone and fax numbers, and comments.
  206.  
  207.  - For Person Objects, specify the following relationships
  208.    whenever you can:
  209.      - Living With: This will automatically help you share home
  210.             address, phone and fax between persons living
  211.             together.
  212.  
  213.      - Working With: This will automatically help you share
  214.              Company Name and Work Address between
  215.              persons working together. In the next
  216.              release, you can also optionally share the
  217.              work phone and fax numbers.
  218.  
  219.  - When entering a Person's name, follow a convention of entering
  220.    first name, middle name, last name in that order.
  221.  
  222.  - Currently you can specify only one telephone or fax number, or
  223.    email address from within an EasyList. If you want to specify
  224.    more than one telephone or fax number, or email address, you
  225.    can do it from EasyEditor. However once specified, they will
  226.    appear in the EasyList too, and you can modify the values from
  227.    EasyList.

  229.  - Dates should be specified as MM/DD/YYYY. Note, that you must
  230.    specify all the four digits of the year.
  231.    Example: 1995 is correct, whereas 95 is not correct.

  250. Windows is released as SHAREWARE. This means that you may try the
  251. software for 30 days free of charge. After 30 days, you should
  252. either pay the required registration fees or should stop using
  253. the software and delete the software permanently from your hard
  254. disk.

  256. The REGISTRATION FEE is $15.00 + $2.00 (US Shipping & Handling) US
  257. Dollars.
