  5. SHX2SHP.EXE "decompiles" .SHX files (converts them to .SHP
  6. files), with all the nice cosmetics, like grouping in 
  7. parentheses, using hex codes, signed or unsigned numbers,
  8. as appropriate, and creating mnemonic names for unnamed 
  9. shapes.  The results conform to the notation conventions 
  10. recommended by Autodesk, and are often more readable then 
  11. the original .SHP files used to create fonts and shapes.

  13. Usage:             SHX2SHP filename
  14.  
  15. 'filename' should be an existing .SHX file (don't specify 
  16. the extension).  SHX2SHP will create a .SHP file with the
  17. same name.
  18.  
  19. The program has been tested with all available .SHX files
  20. to verify that recompilation produces identical results, 
  21. when using the same version of AutoCAD.  If it fails for 
  22. you, please send us your .SHX file, and we'll fix the 
  23. problem.

  25. Version 4.0 of SHX2SHP handles the old-style Version 1.0 
  26. .SHX files, the Version 1.1 files, introduced with AutoCAD
  27. Release 12, and UNIFONT files, introduced with Release 13.

  34. SHX2SHP doesn't handle BIGFONT .SHX files.  BIGX2P, which 
  35. does, is also available for $100.
