  1. SCRIPTS in /dosutil:
  2.  
  3. - LHDSETUP.BAT: Copies the CD-tree to a DOS partition, gives various
  4.                 choices, to be used for unsupported CD-ROM drives.
  5.  
  6. DOS utilities in /dosutil:
  7.  
  8. -ADABAS:    The Adabas ODBC-driver for Windows. It must be unpacked 
  9.  |              into an empty directory using Pkunzip or WinZip. It can 
  10.  |              then be installed with the command SETUP.EXE. Please 
  11.  |              also read the file README.O32!
  12.  
  13. -AMIGA:
  14.  |
  15.   - transdsk.bin With this program you can load parts of a floppy into 
  16.  |              the RAM-Disk.
  17.   - transrom.bin With the programs dumptos.ttp and tosdump.prg you can 
  18.                 read out TOS images and save them to disk. The program 
  19.                 dumptos.ttp only works with TOS versions 2.x . 
  20.                 tosdump.prg only works with 1.0, 1.4 and 2.06 .

  22. -ATARI:

  24.   - tosdump.prg Tool for the extraction of TOS images

  27. -AUTOCN2G:     
  28.  |
  29.   -autocon.exe   Adminstration/Booting of different AUTOEXEC.BAT and 
  30.                  CONFIG.SYS (shareware!). In order to install this, 
  31.                  please copy all files into one directory on the harddisk
  32.                  and add this directory to the PATH variable.

  34. -BEAV133:       
  35.  |
  36.   -beav.exe      Hex editor/viewer for binary files. Documentation for 
  37.                  this package is available in the file "beav133.txt".

  39. -BOOTLIN:
  40.  |
  41.   - bootlin.com  Another Linux bootloader in addition to loadlin. Must 
  42.                  be started in Real Mode.  No memory management software 
  43.                  like EMM386 may be active. This means, you must leave 
  44.                  Win95 and change to the DOS mode. The program can be 
  45.                  executed there. Documentation is available in the file  
  46.                  bootlin.doc.

  48. -COMP430D:
  49.  |
  50.   - comp430d.exe Tool for the packing and unpacking of files according 
  51.                  to the Lempel-Ziv procedure. Documentation is available 
  52.                  in comp430d.doc.

  54. -DPARAM:
  55.  |
  56.   -dparam.com    Tool for the determination of disk parameters
  57.  
  58. -EXT2TOOL:     Linux filesystem tools for DOS. You can read ext2-
  59.                  partitions from DOS with these tools. The programs need 
  60.                  the GO32 DOS extender in order to be executable.

  62.   E2CAT          similar to Linux cat command
  63.   E2CD           similar to Linux cd command
  64.   E2CP           similar to Linux cp command
  65.   E2LS           similar to Linux ls command
  66.   E2PART         lists partitions on the harddrive
  67.   E2PWD          similar to Linux pwd command

  69. -FIPS:
  70.  |
  71.   -fips.exe     Use this tool to change the size of DOS partitions 
  72.                 (only primary partitions). This can be used to create 
  73.                 space for a Linux partition ;-) 
  74.                 Two versions are available : fips15 and fips20. If you 
  75.                 don't have a FAT32 partitions, it is recommended to use 
  76.                 fips15. That version proved to be reliable for a long 
  77.                 time. So far we received only a few (although very 
  78.                 positive) comments on fips20. For further information 
  79.                 please read the file InfoSuSE in the fips directory as 
  80.                 well as fips.doc in the corresponding subdirectory.

  82. -GTAR109:    The GNU tar program (for Linux files). Source code is 
  83.  |              included. The documentation for the large number of 
  84.   -tar.exe      command line options of this program is available in  
  85.                 tar.txt .
  86.  
  87. -GZIP:          The GNU compression utility (for Linux files). It is 
  88.  |              intended to be a replacement for 'compress┤. Compression 
  89.   - gzip.exe    rates are usually much better than for 'compress'.  For 
  90.                 further information read the files readme and gzip.doc 
  91.                 in the same directory.
  92.       
  93. -LOADLIN:       The Linux loader for DOS. Also this tool may only be 
  94.  |              started in the Real Mode, not under Win95. In the file 
  95.   - loadlin.exe    linux.bat an example on how to call this program is 
  96.                 shown. For further information please read the file 
  97.                 manual.txt in /loadlin/doc.

  99. -LTOOLS:        A set of programs for DOS, Windows 3.x/9.x and Windows NT
  100.  |              to read and write on linux (ext2) partitions.
  101.   
  102. -MIX            Free X server for Win95 and Mac. It can be used to 
  103.  |              display the output of Unix X servers. 
  104.  
  105. -PARTPROG:      2 programs for the partitioning of the harddrive 
  106.  |-edpart.arc   (packed with arj). Documentation for 
  107.  |-pdisk.arc    is included in .doc-files.

  110. -PBOOT:         Tool for the patching of the kernel such that it boots 
  111.  |-pboot.exe    from the harddrive
  112.  
  113. -PFDISKTC:      Divides the harddrive into new partitions. For exact 
  114.  |-pfdisk.exe   informnation about the functionality you should read the 
  115.                 file pfdisk.doc . The package contains the source code.
  116.    
  117. -PKUNZIP:       Well-known DOS tool for the unpacking of files.
  118.  |-pkunzip.exe
  119.  
  120. -RAWRITE:       Writing (linux-)image files to a floppy (versions 1.2, 
  121.  |-rawrite.exe  1.3). Writes directly to the discette. All data on the 
  122.                 discette will be overwritten and can't be recovered 
  123.                 afterwards ! This tool is necessary to create Linux boot 
  124.                 disks under DOS. For further information, please read 
  125.                 rawrite.doc .

  127. -SETUP:         Sources and binaries of the SuSE DOS setup tools 
  128.  |              which can be used for the first part of the Linux 
  129.   -setup1_4.tgz installation under DOS. Please read the corresponding 
  130.                 section in the manual for further information. 
  131.  
  132. -UNTGZ:         Fast tool for the unpacking of .TAR and .TGZ archives for
  133.                 all MS platforms and OS/2 . The tool automatically
  134.                 generates valid DOS names for the unpacked files.
  135.  
  136. -VNC:        The Win32 version of the VNC package (VNC = Virtual 
  137.                 Network Computing). With this package it is possible to
  138.                 start a kind of virtual X server and to access it from 
  139.                 another machine (independant from the hardware platform).
  140.                 The package is packed with TAR.
  141.  
  142. -XFS186:        NFS client for DOS (shareware). For devices compatible to 
  143.                 NEx000-cards it is sufficient to call xfs.bat in order 
  144.                 to connect the system to the network. Documentation is 
  145.                 available in the file xfs.txt.
  146.  
  147. -XFS32-11:      NFS client for Win* (shareware). This is the Windows 
  148.  |              version of XFS186 .
  149.   -setup.exe    Setup utlity for XFS32-11
  150.  
  151. -ZIPZP715:      ZipZap - LowLevel disk editor (shareware). You can write 
  152.  |              to, read from and search on the disk with this tool.
  153.   -zipzap71.exe See zipzap71.doc in the same directory for further 
  154.                 information.
