SCRIPTS in /dosutil:
- LHDSETUP.BAT: Copies the CD-tree to a DOS partition, gives various
choices, to be used for unsupported CD-ROM drives.
DOS utilities in /dosutil:
-ADABAS: The Adabas ODBC-driver for Windows. It must be unpacked
| into an empty directory using Pkunzip or WinZip. It can
| then be installed with the command SETUP.EXE. Please
| also read the file README.O32!
-AMIGA:
|
- transdsk.bin With this program you can load parts of a floppy into
| the RAM-Disk.
- transrom.bin With the programs dumptos.ttp and tosdump.prg you can
read out TOS images and save them to disk. The program
dumptos.ttp only works with TOS versions 2.x .
tosdump.prg only works with 1.0, 1.4 and 2.06 .
-ATARI:
|
- tosdump.prg Tool for the extraction of TOS images
dumptos.ttp
-AUTOCN2G:
|
-autocon.exe Adminstration/Booting of different AUTOEXEC.BAT and
CONFIG.SYS (shareware!). In order to install this,
please copy all files into one directory on the harddisk
and add this directory to the PATH variable.
-BEAV133:
|
-beav.exe Hex editor/viewer for binary files. Documentation for
this package is available in the file "beav133.txt".
-BOOTLIN:
|
- bootlin.com Another Linux bootloader in addition to loadlin. Must
be started in Real Mode. No memory management software
like EMM386 may be active. This means, you must leave
Win95 and change to the DOS mode. The program can be
executed there. Documentation is available in the file
bootlin.doc.
-COMP430D:
|
- comp430d.exe Tool for the packing and unpacking of files according
to the Lempel-Ziv procedure. Documentation is available
in comp430d.doc.
-DPARAM:
|
-dparam.com Tool for the determination of disk parameters
-EXT2TOOL: Linux filesystem tools for DOS. You can read ext2-
partitions from DOS with these tools. The programs need
the GO32 DOS extender in order to be executable.

E2LS similar to Linux ls command
E2PART lists partitions on the harddrive
E2PWD similar to Linux pwd command
-FIPS:
|
-fips.exe Use this tool to change the size of DOS partitions
(only primary partitions). This can be used to create
space for a Linux partition ;-)
Two versions are available : fips15 and fips20. If you
don't have a FAT32 partitions, it is recommended to use
fips15. That version proved to be reliable for a long
time. So far we received only a few (although very
positive) comments on fips20. For further information
please read the file InfoSuSE in the fips directory as
well as fips.doc in the corresponding subdirectory.
-GTAR109: The GNU tar program (for Linux files). Source code is
| included. The documentation for the large number of
-tar.exe command line options of this program is available in
tar.txt .
-GZIP: The GNU compression utility (for Linux files). It is
| intended to be a replacement for 'compress┤. Compression
- gzip.exe rates are usually much better than for 'compress'. For
further information read the files readme and gzip.doc
in the same directory.
-LOADLIN: The Linux loader for DOS. Also this tool may only be
| started in the Real Mode, not under Win95. In the file
- loadlin.exe linux.bat an example on how to call this program is
shown. For further information please read the file
manual.txt in /loadlin/doc.
-LTOOLS: A set of programs for DOS, Windows 3.x/9.x and Windows NT
| to read and write on linux (ext2) partitions.
-MIX Free X server for Win95 and Mac. It can be used to
| display the output of Unix X servers.
-PARTPROG: 2 programs for the partitioning of the harddrive
|-edpart.arc (packed with arj). Documentation for
|-pdisk.arc is included in .doc-files.
-PBOOT: Tool for the patching of the kernel such that it boots
|-pboot.exe from the harddrive
-PFDISKTC: Divides the harddrive into new partitions. For exact
|-pfdisk.exe informnation about the functionality you should read the
file pfdisk.doc . The package contains the source code.
-PKUNZIP: Well-known DOS tool for the unpacking of files.
|-pkunzip.exe
-RAWRITE: Writing (linux-)image files to a floppy (versions 1.2,
|-rawrite.exe 1.3). Writes directly to the discette. All data on the
discette will be overwritten and can't be recovered
afterwards ! This tool is necessary to create Linux boot
disks under DOS. For further information, please read
rawrite.doc .
-SETUP: Sources and binaries of the SuSE DOS setup tools
| which can be used for the first part of the Linux
-setup1_4.tgz installation under DOS. Please read the corresponding
section in the manual for further information.
-UNTGZ: Fast tool for the unpacking of .TAR and .TGZ archives for
all MS platforms and OS/2 . The tool automatically
generates valid DOS names for the unpacked files.
-VNC: The Win32 version of the VNC package (VNC = Virtual
Network Computing). With this package it is possible to
start a kind of virtual X server and to access it from
another machine (independant from the hardware platform).
The package is packed with TAR.
-XFS186: NFS client for DOS (shareware). For devices compatible to
NEx000-cards it is sufficient to call xfs.bat in order
to connect the system to the network. Documentation is
available in the file xfs.txt.
-XFS32-11: NFS client for Win* (shareware). This is the Windows
| version of XFS186 .
-setup.exe Setup utlity for XFS32-11
-ZIPZP715: ZipZap - LowLevel disk editor (shareware). You can write
| to, read from and search on the disk with this tool.
-zipzap71.exe See zipzap71.doc in the same directory for further
information.
