  1. SCRIPTS in /dosutil:

  3. - LHDSETUP.BAT: Copies the CD-tree to a DOS partition, gives various
  4.                 choices, to be used for unsupported CD-ROM drives.
  5.  
  6. DOS utilities in /dosutil:

  9. -AMIGA:
  10.  |
  11.   - transdsk.bin With this program you can load parts of a floppy into 
  12.  |              the RAM-Disk.
  13.   - transrom.bin With the programs dumptos.ttp and tosdump.prg you can 
  14.                 read out TOS images and save them to disk. The program 
  15.                 dumptos.ttp only works with TOS versions 2.x . 
  16.                 tosdump.prg only works with 1.0, 1.4 and 2.06 .

  20.   - tosdump.prg Tool for the extraction of TOS images

  23. -AUTOCN2G:

  25.   -autocon.exe   Adminstration/Booting of different AUTOEXEC.BAT and 
  26.                  CONFIG.SYS (shareware!). In order to install this, 
  27.                  please copy all files into one directory on the harddisk
  28.                  and add this directory to the PATH variable.

  30. -BEAV133:       
  31.  |
  32.   -beav.exe      Hex editor/viewer for binary files. Documentation for 
  33.                  this package is available in the file "beav133.txt".

  35. -BOOTLIN:
  36.  |
  37.   - bootlin.com  Another Linux bootloader in addition to loadlin. Must 
  38.                  be started in Real Mode.  No memory management software 
  39.                  like EMM386 may be active. This means, you must leave 
  40.                  Win95 and change to the DOS mode. The program can be 
  41.                  executed there. Documentation is available in the file  
  42.                  bootlin.doc.

  44. -COMP430D:
  45.  |
  46.   - comp430d.exe Tool for the packing and unpacking of files according 
  47.                  to the Lempel-Ziv procedure. Documentation is available 
  48.                  in comp430d.doc.

  50. -DPARAM:

  52.   -dparam.com    Tool for the determination of disk parameters
  53.  
  54. -EXT2TOOL:     Linux filesystem tools for DOS. You can read ext2-
  55.                  partitions from DOS with these tools. The programs need 
  56.                  the GO32 DOS extender in order to be executable.

  58.   E2CAT          similar to Linux cat command
  59.   E2CD           similar to Linux cd command
  60.   E2CP           similar to Linux cp command
  61.   E2LS           similar to Linux ls command
  62.   E2PART         lists partitions on the harddrive
  63.   E2PWD          similar to Linux pwd command

  65. -FIPS:
  66.  |
  67.   -fips.exe     Use this tool to change the size of DOS partitions 
  68.                 (only primary partitions). This can be used to create 
  69.                 space for a Linux partition ;-) 
  70.                 Two versions are available : fips15 and fips20. If you 
  71.                 don't have a FAT32 partitions, it is recommended to use 
  72.                 fips15. That version proved to be reliable for a long 
  73.                 time. So far we received only a few (although very 
  74.                 positive) comments on fips20. For further information 
  75.                 please read the file InfoSuSE in the fips directory as 
  76.                 well as fips.doc in the corresponding subdirectory.

  78. -GTAR109:    The GNU tar program (for Linux files). Source code is 
  79.  |              included. The documentation for the large number of 
  80.   -tar.exe      command line options of this program is available in  
  81.                 tar.txt .
  82.  
  83. -GZIP:          The GNU compression utility (for Linux files). It is 
  84.  |              intended to be a replacement for 'compress┤. Compression 
  85.   - gzip.exe    rates are usually much better than for 'compress'.  For 
  86.                 further information read the files readme and gzip.doc 
  87.                 in the same directory.
  88.       
  89. -LOADLIN:       The Linux loader for DOS. Also this tool may only be 
  90.  |              started in the Real Mode, not under Win95. In the file 
  91.   - loadlin.exe    linux.bat an example on how to call this program is 
  92.                 shown. For further information please read the file 
  93.                 manual.txt in /loadlin/doc.

  95. -LTOOLS:        A set of programs for DOS, Windows 3.x/9.x and Windows NT
  96.  |              to read and write on linux (ext2) partitions.
  97.   
  98. -MIX            Free X server for Win95 and Mac. It can be used to 
  99.  |              display the output of Unix X servers.

  101. -PARTPROG:      2 programs for the partitioning of the harddrive 
  102.  |-edpart.arc   (packed with arj). Documentation for 
  103.  |-pdisk.arc    is included in .doc-files.

  106. -PBOOT:         Tool for the patching of the kernel such that it boots 
  107.  |-pboot.exe    from the harddrive
  108.  
  109. -PFDISKTC:      Divides the harddrive into new partitions. For exact 
  110.  |-pfdisk.exe   informnation about the functionality you should read the 
  111.                 file pfdisk.doc . The package contains the source code.
  112.    
  113. -PKUNZIP:       Well-known DOS tool for the unpacking of files.
  114.  |-pkunzip.exe
  115.  
  116. -RAWRITE:       Writing (linux-)image files to a floppy (versions 1.2, 
  117.  |-rawrite.exe  1.3). Writes directly to the discette. All data on the 
  118.                 discette will be overwritten and can't be recovered 
  119.                 afterwards ! This tool is necessary to create Linux boot 
  120.                 disks under DOS. For further information, please read 
  121.                 rawrite.doc .

  123. -SETUP:         Sources and binaries of the SuSE DOS setup tools 
  124.  |              which can be used for the first part of the Linux 
  125.   -setup1_4.tgz installation under DOS. Please read the corresponding 
  126.                 section in the manual for further information.

  128. -UNTGZ:         Fast tool for the unpacking of .TAR and .TGZ archives for
  129.                 all MS platforms and OS/2 . The tool automatically
  130.                 generates valid DOS names for the unpacked files.
  131.  
  132. -VNC:        The Win32 version of the VNC package (VNC = Virtual 
  133.                 Network Computing). With this package it is possible to
  134.                 start a kind of virtual X server and to access it from 
  135.                 another machine (independant from the hardware platform).
  136.                 The package is packed with TAR.
  137.  
  138. -XFS186:        NFS client for DOS (shareware). For devices compatible to 
  139.                 NEx000-cards it is sufficient to call xfs.bat in order 
  140.                 to connect the system to the network. Documentation is 
  141.                 available in the file xfs.txt.

  143. -XFS32-11:      NFS client for Win* (shareware). This is the Windows 
  144.  |              version of XFS186 .
  145.   -setup.exe    Setup utlity for XFS32-11
  146.  
  147. -ZIPZP715:      ZipZap - LowLevel disk editor (shareware). You can write 
  148.  |              to, read from and search on the disk with this tool.
  149.   -zipzap71.exe See zipzap71.doc in the same directory for further 
  150.                 information.
