This is the character database used by HTML-Ed. It includes all
the characters that Web Explorer (v1.03) supports.
To add characters to this database, simply load it with a text
editor, and add the new characters. The first 21 characters of
every line are the character description, and anything after that
is what HTML-Ed will insert into the document when that character
is selected. WARNING: HTML-Ed's behavior may be unpredictable
if this format is not strictly adhered to.
Foreign letters should go after the '#FOREIGN' line, but before the
'#SYMBOLS' line. Similarly, symbols should be placed after the
'#SYMBOLS' line.
This file is loaded when HTML-Ed starts. If you change it, you
will have to quit HTML-Ed and restart it in order for any changes
to take effect.
The '#CHARSTOTAGS' section defines how upper ASCII characters are
converted into HTML character tags. The included set is for code
page 850 (Latin 1), which HTML-Ed enforces. I have specifically
not included characters below ascii 32, because this could cause
problems.
If you significantly modify this file, please send the changes to
ianprest@connect.reach.net so that your changes can be included
in future versions of HTML-Ed.
