- PMView 1.00 is for most part a bug-fixed version of 0.93. Some problems with
- running PMView under Warp 4.0 have also been fixed. Here is a list of features
- that are new in PMView 1.00.
-
- 1. Optional interpolation for Zoom and Full Screen that gives you better
- picture quality for scaled images. This option is on the "Display"
- page in the notebook.
- 2. LGO (OS/2 Warp boot logo) file support, read/write
- 3. FITS (Flexible Image Transport System) file support, read/write
- 4. Standard TWAIN support. TWAIN drivers by CFM (Computers für Menschen)
- require an interface that complies with the official TWAIN specification,
- release 1.5. This version of PMView supports both standard TWAIN and STI
- TWAIN.
- 5. Support for MIME files without header. This version of PMView identifies
- and reads MIME encoded graphics without requiring a MIME data header
- ("Content-Transfer-Encoding..." etc.).
- 6. New Warp4 style notebook (OS/2 Warp 4.0 only).
- 7. New option that lets you suppress error messages that may occur when
- loading files. This option is on the "Loading" page in the notebook.
-
- The following bugs and problems are fixed in PMView 1.00.
-
- 1. File Open/Save dialogs: Entering an absolute path without drive letter
- (e.g. \images\*.gif) in the Open Filename: field will change to the
- default drive. When this happens the current drive can no longer be
- selected from the Drive: list. Note that this only happens if the
- currently selected drive is not the default drive.
- 2. File Open/Save dialogs: File names containing a tilde (~) are not
- correctly displayed in the directory list box.
- 3. File Open/Save dialogs: The drive size and available space are under
- some circumstances rounded incorrectly. For instance a 3.0 GB drive
- is displayed as 2.0 GB.
- 4. File Sequencer: Pressing SHIFT+PgUp/PgDn/Home/End causes PMView to
- crash. This happens if the most recently loaded image has been deleted
- and the directory where the image resided contains no more image files.
- 5. Loading, GIF: PMView crashes when loading interlaced GIF images that
- are only 2, 3, or 4 pixels high.
- 6. Loading, PCX: Some PCX files are displayed in grayscale although they
- should be displayed in color.
- 7. Loading, TGA: TGA files with a 15- or 16-bit color map appear as black
- only.
- 8. Loading, XWD: An invalid XWD file may cause PMView to crash.
- 9. Loading, Base64: A problem with decoding of Base64 (MIME) messages has
- been fixed.
- 10. Saving, BMP/DCX/GIF/TIF: Saving the second or n:th page of a multi-image
- file to BMP, DCX, GIF, or TIF produces an invalid file.
- 11. Saving, CUR/ICO/PTR: Saving a grayscale image as a 24-bit OS/2 icon,
- OS/2 pointer, Windows cursor, or Windows icon results in a trashed image.
- 12. Saving, WPG: Saving a file that has bogus resolution (1x1 dpi) causes
- PMView to crash
- 13. Main window: PMView shows scrollbars although the current image doesn't
- require scrollbars. This problem occurs under Warp 4.0.
- 14. Closing PMView from the WPS task list: Closing several PMView sessions
- from the Window List may cause PMView to show the warning message
- "Cannot write PMVIEW.INI".
- 15. Command line switch: The /GAMMA command line switch does not work
- correctly: The fractional part of a given value is ignored.
- 16. Memory problem: Memory that has been used for the previously viewed
- image(s) is not released to the system when selecting File->Close.
- 17. Pasting a bitmap or icon with fewer than 8 bits causes PMView to crash.
- 18. File Info and Slide Settings dialogs: If the default thumbnail size
- (80x80) is not used, thumbnails are not correctly displayed in the
- File Info and Slide Settings dialogs.
- 19. Color, Convert to Black&White: The threshold value is increased by one
- for each conversion.
- 20. Printing: Printing an image across multiple pages causes PMView to crash.
- This problem occurs under Warp 4.0.
