  3. This file provides information for Shareware Distributors and Disk
  4. Vendors who wish to distribute NewsMonger.

  11. The current version of NewsMonger is always available at www.techsmith.com.

  14.                              Distribution
  15.  
  16. This program and its associated files are part of an evaluation
  17. package that is copyrighted by TechSmith Corporation and is not in the
  18. public domain.  If this program is used longer than a 45-day evaluation
  19. period, it must be registered.  The files that comprise the NewsMonger
  20. evaluation package, or the NewsMonger archive file, may be freely 
  21. distributed or listed by software vendors as long as files in the
  22. package are kept together and are not modified.  However, written
  23. permission must be received to distribute NewsMonger on retail racks,
  24. CD Roms, or bundled with any other product.
  25.  
  26. Disk Vendors, Shareware Distributors and BBSs may charge a nominal fee
  27. for distribution of NewsMonger.  However, the recipient of the software
  28. must be informed, in advance, that payment of the distribution fee does
  29. not replace, reduce or eliminate the NewsMonger Licensing requirement
  30. which applies to use after the evaluation period.

  49. provides complete monitoring of the InternetÆs largest source of new
  50. information, the USENET news service. NewsMonger supports multiple
  51. searches, search scheduling and e-mail notification when new articles
  52. matching your criteria are discovered. NewsMonger works with DigitalÆs
  53. AltaVista search engine to provide a complete audit of the contents of
  54. all newsgroups. Of course, your search criteria can limit matches to
  55. specified newsgroups or exclude inappropriate newsgroups. After creating
  56. and scheduling your searches, you can continue with your other tasks --
  57. NewsMonger will notify you or the appropriate person when a new article
  58. meeting your criteria is discovered.

  62. o  Constructs and refines the search query, or allows you to
  63.    directly create the query.

  65. o  Supports dozens of queries and thousands of matching postings.

  67. o  Searches USENET newsgroups for each of your active queries, using
  68.    DigitalÆs AltaVista engine, on demand, or as scheduled by you.

  90. NewsMonger requires Microsoft Windows 95, or Windows NT (3.51 or later),
  91. a permanent or dial-up connection to the Internet, a mouse or other
  92. pointing device, and for printed output, a Windows-supported printer.

  96. The NewsMonger license fee is $39.95. To obtain an individual
  97. or multi-user license, follow the instructions found in the README.TXT
  98. file.
