  3. This is the README.TXT file for Microangelo GIFted, a
  4. product designed specifically for creating and editing
  5. GIF image and animation files.  GIFted requires either
  6. the Windows 95 or Windows NT (4.0 or higher) operating
  7. platform.

  9. INSTALLING Microangelo GIFted
  10. -----------------------------
  11. The GIFted package includes a graphical Windows
  12. installation program.  Copy or unzip the set of files
  13. that accompany this README.TXT file to a floppy diskette
  14. ot into a temporary folder.  Then run the SETUP program
  15. from the diskette or temporary folder.
  16.  
  17. DOCUMENTATION
  18. -------------
  19. Setup installs a Quickstart User Manual and displays this
  20. manual at the conclusion of Setup.  The Quickstart guide
  21. contains important information and tips to help get the
  22. most out of GIFted.
  23.  
  24. We recommend printing out the Quickstart guide and reviewing
  25. before you use GIFted or very soon.  It really does contain
  26. useful information that might be otherwise overlooked.
  27.  
  28. Also, a thorough and concise set of online Help files
  29. provide excellent information on program specifics and step-
  30. by-step instructions to help you when you need it most -
  31. while you work.  You can access online help through the
  32. Contents window where the information is organized into
  33. books and chapters, or go directly to the Index window to
  34. look for specific references and keywords to help you locate
  35. the information that you are looking for.

  37. REGISTRATION
  38. ------------
  39. Microangelo GIFted is not free software.  It is released as
  40. shareware, which provides the opportunity for the program to
  41. be evaluated before it is purchased.
  42.  
  43. We hope that when you try GIFted you will like it so
  44. much that you will want to register.  By doing so you are
  45. voting with your pocketbook for us to continue developing
  46. high-quality, Windows shareware.
  47.  
  48. Complete information on how to register GIFted is included
  49. in the REGISTER.RTF file.  Microangelo GIFted Setup
  50. installs a start menu entry titled Microangelo Print
  51. Registration Form that allows you to print the form from
  52. your Start menu.  If you wish to remove the entry and are
  53. not familiar with how to do so, instructions are provided
  54. to remove the entry in the form itself.

  78.  SOFTWARE LICENSE
  79.  
  80.  Non-licensed users are granted a limited license to use
  81.  Microangelo GIFted on a 30-day trial basis for the purpose
  82.  of determining whether the program is suitable for their
  83.  needs.  The use of the GIFted, except for the initial
  84.  30-day trial, requires registration.  The use of
  85.  unlicensed copies of , outside of the initial
  86.  30-day trial, by any person, business, corporation,
  87.  government agency or any other entity is strictly
  88.  prohibited.

  90.  A license for personal use may be purchased that grants
  91.  thea user the right to use GIFted on one or more
  92.  computers.  A commercial license requires sufficient
  93.  licensing equal to the number of users, or the quantity
  94.  of workstations that access the software, whichever is
  95.  smaller.

  97.  No one may modify or patch the GIFted executable files
  98.  in any way, including but not limited to decompiling,
  99.  disassembling, or otherwise reverse engineering the
  100.  programs.

  102.  A limited license is granted to copy and distribute
  103.  GIFted only for the trial use of others, subject
  104.  to the above limitations, and also the following:
  105.  
  106.   1)    Microangelo GIFted and all of its release files
  107.         must be copied in unmodified form, complete with
  108.         the file containing this license information.
  109.  
  110.   2)    No fee, charge, or other compensation may be requested
  111.         or accepted, except as authorized below:

  113.         A) Operators of electronic bulletin board systems
  114.            (sysops) may make GIFted available for down-
  115.            loading only as long as the above conditions are
  116.            met.  An overall or time-dependent charge for the
  117.            use of the bulletin board system is permitted as
  118.            long as there is not a specific charge for the
  119.            download of GIFted.

  121.         B) Vendors of user-supported or shareware software
  122.            approved by the ASP may distribute Microangelo
  123.            GIFted, subject to the above conditions, without
  124.            specific permission.  Non-approved vendors may
  125.            distribute Microangelo GIFted only after obtaining
  126.            written permission from Impact Software.  Such
  127.            permission is usually granted.  Please write for
  128.            details (enclose your catalog).

  130.         C) Non-profit user groups may distribute copies of
  131.            the Microangelo GIFted diskette to their members,
  132.            subject to the above conditions, without specific
  133.            permission.  Non-profit groups may collect a disk
  134.            duplication fee not to exceed five dollars.

  136.   LIMITED WARRANTY

  138.   Impact Software warrants that all disks provided are
  139.   free from defects in material and workmanship, assuming
  140.   normal use, for a period of 90 days from the date of
  141.   purchase.

  143.   Impact Software warrants that the program will perform
  144.   in substantial compliance with the documentation supplied
  145.   with the software product.  If a significant defect in
  146.   the product is found, the Purchaser may return the
  147.   product for a refund.  In no event will such a refund
  148.   exceed the purchase price of the product.

  150.   EXCEPT AS PROVIDED ABOVE, IMPACT SOFTWARE DISCLAIMS ALL
  151.   WARRANTIES, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING, BUT NOT
  152.   LIMITED TO IMPLIED WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY AND
  153.   FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, WITH RESPECT TO THE
  154.   PRODUCT.  SHOULD THE PROGRAM PROVE DEFECTIVE, THE
  155.   PURCHASER ASSUMES THE RISK OF PAYING THE ENTIRE COST OF
  156.   ALL NECESSARY SERVICING, REPAIR, OR CORRECTION AND ANY
  157.   INCIDENTAL OR CONSEQUENTIAL DAMAGES.  IN NO EVENT WILL
