- Important changes from version 0.9.4 Gamma x to 0.9.9
- -----------------------------------------------------
- Basically about everything. Save files are incompatible. Lots of
- configuration options and a couple of commands have been added.
- Delete [.]adom.cfg and [.]adom.kdb before starting ADOM 0.9.9 so
- that these files can be recreated by ADOM.
-
- Important changes from version 0.9.4 to 0.9.4 Gamma 1
- -----------------------------------------------------
- Sadly save files are incompatible. ADOM 0.9.4 contained an annoying
- bug which horribly corrupts save files at times and thus there is no
- compatibility. Sorry...
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.9.3 (alpha x) to 0.9.4
- -------------------------------------------------------
- * Save files from earlier versions can't be used with ADOM 0.9.4.
- * Both the files '[.]adom.cfg' and '[.]adom.kbd' are now kept in the
- data directory.
- * Several new commands have been added. You either should delete
- '.adom.kbd' (or 'adom.kbd' under DOS) or add the following to that
- file:
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Give item to monster
- #
-
- GIV:g
-
- #
- # Set variable
- #
-
- SEV::=
-
- #
- # Swap position with monster
- #
-
- SWA::s
- -----> Cut here
- * Since some internal commands now also use keybindings, you might want
- to read this:
-
- # IMPORTANT NOTE:
- # While in theory you can redefine the keys in any way you like in
- # practice this is not necessarily recommened, because some functions
- # in ADOM expect certain command *not* to be bound to certain letters.
- #
- # The following commands (the abbreviations from the definitions are
- # used)
- #
- # MON MNW MOW MSW MOS MSE MOE MNE WAT
- #
- # should *NOT* be bound to one of the following keys (separated by white-
- # space):
- #
- # t T z Z \S + -
- #
- # You *can* set them to one of the keys mentioned but this breaks all
- # functions for targetting and determining directions. You have been
- # warned.
-
- * Finally you might want to add the followingf definition to [.]adom.cfg:
- -----> Cut here
- Auto_Lock_Nearest = true
- Low_Hitpoint_Warning = true
- -----> Cut here
-
-
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.9.2 to 0.9.3
- ---------------------------------------------
- * Save files from earlier versions can't be used with ADOM 0.9.3.
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.9.1 to 0.9.2
- ---------------------------------------------
- * Save files from earlier versions can't be used with ADOM 0.9.2.
- * Several new commands have been added. You either should delete
- '.adom.kbd' (or 'adom.kbd' under DOS) or add the following to that
- file:
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Create short character logfile
- #
-
- CSL:(
-
- #
- # Create verbose character logfile
- #
-
- CVL:)
-
- #
- # Create screenshot
- #
-
- CSS:[
-
- #
- # Display name of your deity
- #
-
- DID::g
-
- #
- # Display weapon skills
- #
-
- DWS:\Cw
-
- -----> Cut here
-
- In addition one binding needs to be redefined:
-
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Display monster wound status
- #
-
- MWS::w
-
- -----> Cut here
-
- * You probably also should delete the file '.adom.cfg' (or 'adom.cfg')
- under DOS to make ADOM create a new one. Alternatively you could
- try out the following new settings:
- -----> Cut here
- Colored_Menus = true
- Colored_PC = true
- -----> Cut here
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.9.0 to 0.9.1
- ---------------------------------------------
- * Save files from earlier versions can't be used with ADOM 0.9.1.
- * One new command has been added. You either should delete '.adom.kbd'
- (or 'adom.kbd' under DOS) or add the following to that file:
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Examine environment
- #
-
- EXE:l
- -----> Cut here
- In addition the 'Look' keybinding needs to be changed to
- -----> Cut here
- # Look
- #
-
- LOK:\Cl
- -----> Cut here
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.8.4 to 0.9.0
- ---------------------------------------------
- * Several new commands have been added. You either should delete '.adom.kbd'
- (or 'adom.kbd' under DOS) or add the following to that file:
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Continuous search
- #
-
- CSE:ws
-
- #
- # Display burden levels
- #
-
- DBL::b
-
- #
- # Display companions
- #
-
- DCO::c
-
- #
- # Display elapsed game time
- #
-
- DET:\Ce
-
- #
- # Display missile statistics
- #
-
- DMS:M
-
- -----> Cut here
-
- In addition the 'Display message buffer' keybinding needs to be changed to
-
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Display message buffer
- #
-
- MSG::m
-
- -----> Cut here
-
- * Save files from earlier versions of ADOM are _not_ compatible to 0.9.0!
-
- Important changes from version 0.8.3 to 0.8.4
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- * One new command has been added. You either should delete '.adom.kbd'
- (or 'adom.kbd' under DOS) or add the following to that file:
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Switch auto-pickup on/off
- #
-
- CAP:\Ca
-
- -----> Cut here
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.8.2 to 0.8.3
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- * Strings in configuration variables now must be enclosed in ''s. If you
- did not add anything to 'adom.cfg' (.adom.cfg on Linux-systems) you might
- want to delete the old file to take advantage of all the new variables.
-
- * Three new commands have been added. Thus some new key bindings are
- necessary. If you did not redefine any key bindings, simply delete
- .adom.kbd (or adom.kbd) and everything is fine. If you did redefine
- some key bindings, you probably should add the following lines to your
- keymap file:
-
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Activate trap
- #
-
- ACT:\Ct
-
- #
- # Switch the required (more) key
- #
-
- CMK:\Ck
-
- #
- # Display kick statistics
- #
-
- KST:K
- -----> Cut here
-
- Save files are compatible to save files generated with ADOM 0.8.1 and
- ADOM 0.8.2.
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.8.1 to 0.8.2
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- Only one important change should be noted:
-
- * One new command has been added. Thus a new key binding was necessary. If
- you did not redefine any key bindings, simply delete .adom.kbd (or adom.kbd)
- and everything is fine. If you did redefine some key bindings, you probably
- should add the following lines to your keymap file:
-
- -----> Cut here
- #
- # Pick up items comfortably
- #
-
- CPC:\Cp
- -----> Cut here
-
- If you would like to use another key binding simply replace the \Cp by
- something else.
-
- Savefiles are compatible from 0.8.1 to 0.8.2!
-
-
- Important changes from version 0.8.0 to 0.8.1
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- Some changes have taken place:
-
- * Save files once more use a new format. You can't load save files from
- any version before 0.8.1.
-
- * ADOM now writes a default configuration file if none is found. To make
- full use of the new configuration options you should rename or delete
- your old configuration file (.adom.cfg under Linux or adom.cfg under DOS).
-
- * You now can redefine the key bindings. See the file adom.kbd (under DOS)
- or .adom.kbd (under Linux) for details. This file is created when ADOM is
- started the first time. Please note also the use of 'adom -r' which will
- create a reference file containing the new key bindings.
-
- Important changes from version 0.7.1 to 0.8.0
- ---------------------------------------------
-
- Two major changes were made to ADOM, which both might be slightly
- inconvenient to you:
-
- * Save files from 0.7.1 can't be used in 0.8.0 (due to major internal
- changes). This might happen again in future versions.
-
- * The highscore file generated by ADOM 0.7.1 also can't be used in version
- 0.8.0. This is a very sad thing, but I promise, that it won't ever again
- be necessary to undergo such a major upheaval.
-
- Other changes are detailed in the file 'techstat.doc' which included
- in the package for your operating system.
