  3.               The Main Menu Help
  4.  
  5.   Use this menu to select working mode or to change
  6. the language.
  7.  
  8.   The Main menu consists of screen buttons under
  9. the image.
  10.  
  11.      1. Book     - invoke Book Mode
  12.      2. Setup    - invoke Screen Setup Mode
  13.      3. Map      - invoke Map Mode
  14.      4. Topics   - invoke Topics Mode
  15.      5. Autoshow - run Automatic Slide Show
  16.      6. Exit     - Exit the program
  17.      7. Help     - invoke Help screen
  18.      8. Russian  - change to Russian text
  19.      9. English  - change to English text

  21.    To get any button description, move the cursor to
  22. the desired button then press the right mouse button.
  23. To remove the button description press the right mouse
  24. button or any key.

  27.                The Book Mode Help
  28.  
  29.   Two windows displayed in this mode - the text window 
  30. and the illustration window.
  31.   There are two different types of highlighted
  32. references in the text. Blue words are image references
  33. while grey ones are text references.
  34.   To select a reference place the cursor on it and press
  35. the left mouse button or the Enter key.
  36.   When an the blue image reference is selected - the
  37. new image is displayed in the illustration window.
  38.   When a grey text reference is selected - the current 
  39. chapter is closed and a new reference chapter and image 
  40. are automatically displayed. At the end of any chapter 
  41. there is a reference to the next one, and you can read 
  42. the whole book by selecting these references one by one.
  43.   Use the Previous Screen button to return to the
  44. previous chapter.
  45.   Press the Index button to go to the table of contents.
  46.   By pointing the cursor to the illustration image and
  47. pressing left mouse button or Enter key you can enlarge
  48. the image to full screen.
  49.   To get a button description - move the cursor to the 
  50. button and then press the right mouse button.

  53.             The Full Image Mode Help
  54.   
  55.   Displayed in this mode are full screen images with a
  56. Command menu.
  57.   To get a Command button description, move the cursor
  58. to the desired button and press the right mouse button.
  59.    The following buttons are supported:
  60. 1. Book mode. Transfers user to the Book mode.
  61. 2. Map Browse mode. Transfers user to the Map mode.
  62. 3. Lens Tool mode. Allows the user to selectively
  63.    magnify an area of the image.
  64. 4 and 5. Zoom mode and Panoramic mode. Allow the user to
  65.    scroll through the current image at twice its normal 
  66.    magnification.
  67. 6. Information mode. Displays a short description about
  68.    the image. 
  69. 7. Remove Command Menu mode. Removes the Command Menu
  70.    from the screen.
  71. 8. Next Image. Displays the next image in the current
  72.    topic series.
  73. 9. Previous Image. Displays the previous image in the
  74.    current series.
  75. 10. Cancel. Cancels the mode which is currently active.
  76. 11. Help mode. Allows the user to invoke the Help screen

  79.                The Topic Series Help
  80.  
  81.    Images are organized in the Topic Series with short
  82. descriptions.
  83.  
  84.    The current image is highlighted by a bright frame
  85. on the screen.
  86.      
  87.    The Topic Menu consists of two levels. At the upper
  88. level there are nine images, each of which represents 
  89. a different topic. After you select a Topic, the second
  90. level of images appear, representing nine images of
  91. this topic.

  93.    You can browse through a series of images related
  94. to the current topic and enlarge any of them by
  95. pointing to an image with the cursor and then pressing
  96. the left mouse button or the Enter key.

  98.    There is a Command Menu at the bottom of the
  99. screen. To get a command description move the cursor
  100. to a button and press the right mouse button.

  103.               The Setup Mode Help
  104.  
  105.    The following color settings can be changed by
  106. moving the cursor to the + or the - icons and clicking
  107. the left mouse button or the Enter key: RED, GREEN and
  108. BLUE component fraction or overall INTENSITY.

  110.    You can save the current screen adjustments by using
  111. the SAVE button, or restore the default values using
  112. the RESTORE button.

  114.    In any mode you can adjust screen palette using
  115. function keys:
  116.     F2/F3  - increase/decrease red
  117.     F4/F5  - increase/decrease green
  118.     F6/F7  - increase/decrease blue color
  119.     F8/F9  - increase/decrease intensity
  120.     F10 - restore original pallete
  121.    
  122.    To return to the Main Menu use the Main Menu button
  123. (decorated with double up arrows).

  125.     To get any button description, move the cursor to
  126. the desired button then press the right mouse button.

  129.                The Map Mode Help
  130.  
  131.     While in the Hermitage museum Map you can select 
  132. any highlighted room on the map.
  133.  
  134.     There are three floors in the Hermitage museum.
  135. Select any of them using the appropriate button
  136. (1, 2 or 3) in the Command Menu under the Map.
  137.  
  138.     The current room is highlighted in red and its
  139. small image is in the lower left corner of the screen.
  140. The name of the current room is also displayed.
  141.     
  142.     To enter the Full Image Mode point to the small
  143. image with the cursor and press the left mouse button
  144. or the Enter key.

  146. There is a Command Menu at the bottom of the screen.
  147.    
  148.     To get any button description, move the cursor to
  149. the desired button then press the right mouse button.

  158.                The Zoom Mode Help
  159.  
  160.   In this Mode the current image is displayed both in a
  161. half screen format and in a special Zoom window at two
  162. times its normal size.
  163.   You can press any screen button to slowly move the
  164. image in the Zoom window in any direction you selected
  165. (from top to bottom, from left to right or vice versa,
  166. or diagonally, for example, from top left to
  167. bottom right).
  168.   Press any key or left mouse button to cancel the Zoom
  169. motion.
  170.   Use Cancel button to exit from the Zoom mode.
  171.   To get any button description, move the cursor to the
  172. desired button then press the right mouse button.
