  2. Utility 1-2-3 is bunch of files offering you a combination of "tips" on
  3. how to use 1-2-3 more efficiently or in different ways, and the special
  4. files you need carry out these "tips".

  6. Some of the things these files allow you to do include:

  8.      Imbed special printer control characters in your 1-2-3 worksheets
  9.      allowing you to print multiple font reports without entering a
  10.      single Setup string.
  11.  
  12.      Bring special graphics characters into you 1-2-3 worksheets to
  13.      fancy up menus or graphically illustrate a point.
  14.  
  15.      How to use ProKey, by RoseSoft, in some innovative ways with 1-2-3.
  16.      (ProKey is a general purpose macro processor that works with almost
  17.      any software.) A ProKey macro file is included on the disk
  18.      containing several ProKey macros useful when working with 1-2-3.
  19.      ProKey extends 1-2-3's macro capabilities and allows you to build
  20.      macros that are independent of any one worksheet.  You build them
  21.      once, and they work with all your 1-2-3 worksheets.

  23. The way Utility 1-2-3 works is basically as follows: 1-2-3 worksheets
  24. containing these special characters have been created using a file
  25. utility program such as the Norton Utilities.  These special worksheets
  26. contain characters that 1-2-3 normally does not allow you to enter.
  27. These special characters were assigned range names with the Range Name
  28. Create command.  If you ever have a worksheet that needs one of these
  29. special characters, you simply File Copy Combine the named range that
  30. you need out of the special worksheets.  The 21 page manual helps you
  31. identify the proper codes.  The Printer codes are stored the the file
  32. PRINTER.WKS.  The graphics characters are stored in the file ASCII.WKS.
  33. ProKey macros have been set up to facilitate the Combining of these
  34. special characters.  The 1-2-3 macro equivalents have also been set up
  35. in case you do not own ProKey.
