- CHECKING OUT SOFTWARE FROM THE ADA REPOSITORY
-
- If you wish to modify a piece of software in the Ada
- Repository and the distribution statement says that the software is
- released to the Public Domain, feel free to do so. If the software
- has not been released to the Public Domain, you may modify the
- software for your own use but it may not be replaced in the repository
- without the author's permission or the permission of his designated
- agent unless a clause is placed in the distribution statement stating
- that modification and replacement in the Ada Repository is allowed.
-
- Assuming that modification and replacement of the piece of
- software in the Ada Repository is permitted, I highly recommend that
- you state your intentions to perform a modification by mailing a
- message to this extent to:
-
-
- ADA-SW@SIMTEL20
-
-
- This way, all readers of the mailing list know that a
- modification is underway, and concurrent modification of the same
- piece of software should not take place. I will try to maintain a
- list of all software being modified in the following file:
-
-
- PD:<ADA.GENERAL>MODS.DOC
-
-
- This file will be dynamically modified as checkouts are done
- and the software is checked back in.
-
- By all means, please update the Revision History section of
- the prologue with each modification. The nature of changes can be
- tracked that way.
-
- Once the modification is completed and tested, checking in the
- software is the same procedure as an initial submittal. See the
- following file for details:
-
-
- PD:<ADA.GENERAL>SUBMIT.DOC
-
-
- Thank you for your interest in contributing to the Ada
- Repository at SIMTEL20.
