  7. PROBLEM:       Token-Ring Error: "Token ring status beaconing.  Status=520 
  8.                (also 420)." "Alert condition has been corrected."  This
  9.                appears on the file server.

  11. SOLUTION:      When a workstation has not received the token after a
  12.                certain period of time from his upstream neighbor, the
  13.                workstation sends a "beacon packet" to the active monitor on
  14.                the ring.  The active monitor then checks to see which
  15.                workstation is not responding and disconnects the guilty
  16.                party.  That is when the second message appears.

  18.                Find the bad link--whether it is a card, cable, MAU port,
  19.                etc.
