  6. PROBLEM:       A customer found that the SYS: volume is very slow to mount
  7.                running NetWare 386 v3.0 on Compaq Deskpro/25.
  8.  
  9. SOLUTION:      We told him it was time to purge all the thousands of
  10.                deleted files that have been building up in the directory. 
  11.                We had him login as Supervisor and run the following
  12.                commands:
  13.  
  14.                CHKVOL
  15.                PURGE ALL
  16.                CHKVOL
  17.  
  18.                This will show the space in use by deleted files and
  19.                gradually purge all deleted file in the system from the root
  20.                directory.  (They should execute these commands from the
  21.                root directory).  This will speed up the volume mount. 
  22.  
  23.                Note:  This may also be used with NetWare 386 v3.1.
