  8. INFORMATION:   The following FYI is a TECHQA from IBM LINK - IBM's

  11.               Title:  08/06/90 ENHANCED 80386 MEMORY EXPANSION OPTIONS 
  12.                       IN NOVELL NETWARE SERVERS.
  13.  
  14.               Q:  Two alternatives have been identified that support 
  15.                   the IBM Enhanced 80386 Memory Expansion Options (2MB 
  16.                   Kit j- PN 34F3077, FC 3077 and 4MB Kit - PN 34F3011, 
  17.                   FC 3011) installed in Novell Netware 286 Servers!
  18.  
  19.                   1)  Use the device driver (DOSMEMDD.SYS) provided on 
  20.                       the Option Diskette to initialize the Enhanced 
  21.                       80386 Memory Expansion Option.  Use of this 
  22.                       device driver requires that Netware 286 be run as 
  23.                       a nondedicated server and that the device driver 
  24.                       be copied to the DOS partition and included in the
  25.                       CONFIG.SYS file in the DOS partition.  In addition,
  26.                       the @FDDF.ADF file on the Refernce Diskette must be
  27.                       edited to delete the INITPROG statement.  If the 
  28.                       INITPROG statment is not deleted and SET
  29.                       CONFIGURATION is executed then the Novell Netware 
  30.                       286 boot record on Drive C will be destroyed!
  31.  
  32.                   2)  Boot system from Option Diskette.  A screen will
  33.                       appear that instructs the user to insert the
  34.                       Operating System diskette into Drive A and press
  35.                       any key to continue.  Remove the Option Diskette 
  36.                       from Drive A and press any key and the system will
  37.                       boot NetWare 286 from Drive C.  Again, the 
  38.                       @FDDF.ADF file on the Reference Diskette must be
  39.                       edited to delete the INITPROG statement or execution
  40.                       of SET CONFIGURATION will destroy the NetWare 286
  41.                       boot record on Drive C!
  42.  
  43.                In addition, please note that Novell NetWare 386 (unlike
  44.                Netware 286) is fully compatible with the IBM Enhanced 386
  45.                Memory Expansion Options without any of the above work
  46.                arounds.
