  6. PROBLEM:       We have a customer running ELS I v2.0A with a file called 
  7.                MUSIC.MNU.  When he tries to edit this file with EDLIN, 
  8.                everything seems to work fine.  He can edit and save without 
  9.                any problems. The problem arises after he has made changes 
  10.                and saved them.  He types the file and the changes are not 
  11.                there.  It only does this on this file name.  We have 
  12.                renamed it and it works fine.  We have edited other files 
  13.                and it works fine.  We have deleted it and recreated it and 
  14.                it still does not recognize the modifications.  It does this
  15.                on all his workstations and with different versions of DOS.

  17. SOLUTION:      EDLIN creates a backup copy anytime you make changes and if 
  18.                this file is flagged SRO, EDLIN will not update your file. 
  19.                Instead, it will create a new one containing your changes 
  20.                called FILENAME.$$$.  So you should flag your files SRW 
  21.                before using EDLIN to modify them.
