  5. GENERAL
  6. INFORMATION:  The following is a procedure that was used to help a customer
  7.               get a second volume online that would not mount in an NDS/4
  8.               for a 68B file server:
  9.  
  10.               1. The info from COMPSURF re:  a drive's format is contained
  11.               in sector 15 of the hard disk.
  12.  
  13.               2. The vol/sys: was mountable, but the 2nd drive, which was 
  14.               identical as far as mfg and model, was not mounting.
  15.  
  16.               3. As a last ditch effort to bring the 2nd drive online, we
  17.               went in with Disked.I, read sector 15 from drive 0, changed
  18.               drives to drive 1, and wrote sector 15 to drive 1.
  19.  
  20.               4. We rebooted the file server and brought it up from the
  21.               hard disk, and it mounted both volumes.  Evidently, the info
  22.               on sector 15 of drive 1 had been corrupted and by restoring
  23.               sector 15 from an identical drive, we were able to solve the
  24.               problem.  If this had not worked, the user would have had to
  25.               reCOMPSURF and loose all data on drive, for which they did
  26.               not have a backup.
