- PROBLEM: There was/is a timing problem with the IBM 16/4 TRN card in
- 386 machines running at 33 MHz (and beyond). It filters down to a
- situation where the card is not certified to run at that speed.
-
- For us at Novell, this manifested itself as a problem
- primarily with the NetWare Access Server in 33 MHz (most often Compaq)
- machines with the 16/4 card.
-
- SOLUTION: If you use TBZ=1024 when loading the TRN driver, then the
- problem should disappear. This parameter can only be used with the latest
- Token Ring drivers (shipped with 386 v3.1 or TRN050.ZIP on NetWire).
- Future drivers and boards will fix the problem so that you will not have
- to use TBZ when loading the driver.
