  8. GENERAL INFORMATION  : From talking to one of the engineers, our XMS shell
  9. takes advantage of HMA, a special architecture using the first meg of extended
  10. memory.  The neat thing about HMA is that it's available to real mode
  11. executables (without the previous hassle associated with the expanded EMS
  12. paging slight of hand).  The limiting facility within HMA is that only one
  13. program at a time can utilize HMA memory.

  15. Windows 3.0 can load and run as well, as it has it's own extended memory
  16. manager, HIMEM.SYS, which uses all of the remaining extended memory after that
  17. used by HMA.
