  8.            QUESTION  : While attending the 1990 Novell Developer's conference,
  9. I heard about a new feature that will be included in version 3.10 of NetWare
  10. 386. It is called the "write through" or commit file. Can you tell me more?

  12.              ANSWER  : The write through feature is an extended file open
  13. request the means that any writes that occur to that file MUST be written
  14. immediatly to disk. All cache buffers used for the write are flushed once
  15. written to. While this feature offers some security for ensuring that writes
  16. occur, it will slow down the system because none of the caching is used.
