  3. This is how to insure that you mirror the cold boot loader.  It
  4. will enable you to boot from the secondary drive if the primary drive
  5. crashes.  This only works for v2.15C and above.
  6.  
  7. While in NINSTALL (spawned by NETGEN) on a clean "first time"
  8. installation, the first option will be to "Hotfix Drives To
  9. Default".  Pick this option.  Then the first option will be
  10. replaced by "Initialize a Disk".  Instead of initializing each
  11. disk separately, go to the "Modify Mirror Tables" option and
  12. establish the desired mirrored pair(s).  Then use the "Initialize
  13. a Disk" option and initialize the mirrored pair(s) as one logical
  14. disk.  (the status column will show "Mirrored").

  16. Once this is completed, and the option is selected to install the
  17. operating system within "Miscellaneous Maintenance", the cold
  18. boot loader will be written to both mirrored drives which
  19. correspond to volume SYS.

  21. If you have a 2.1X system already and you have mirrored the
  22. primary drive then you must upgrade to 2.15C.  When installing
  23. your upgrade the cold boot loader will be copied to both mirrored
  24. SYS volume drives.  This happens when you choose the option in
  25. "Miscellaneous Maintenance" to install the operating system.

  27. Also, if the primary drive crashes, the secondary (mirrored drive)
  28. will not cold boot unless the controller and drive jumpers are
  29. changed to CONTROLLER 0, DRIVE 0.
