- Title: NetWare for Mac v2.2 Postscript Binary Printing
-
- Bulletin Date: 4/1/91 Revision: 1.0
-
- Category: Printing Sub-Category: Server
- S/W Product: NWMAC v2.2 H/W Product:
- Version Affected: 2.2
-
- Operating System: v2.2 Rev:
- System and Hardware:
- Application: Printing
-
- Symptom: When printing from a DOS workstation to the Macintosh
- print queues, the job sits in the queue, or only a banner
- page prints out intermittently. Sometimes everything is
- fine.
-
- Problem: By default using the regular Postscript driver should be
- fine for most printing from DOS workstations. But, if jobs
- are sitting in queues or only banner pages are printing
- this may be a problem related to the end of file character
- (EOF) in the document. If when doing the postscript
- translation the EOF character is found in a portion of the
- document itself, then the document won't print. This
- usually happens when a Postscript binary file is
- encapsulated in a Postscript file.
-
- Solution or
- Work-around: Set up your print job in PRINTCON and PRINTDEF with the
- Postscript Binary driver instead of Postscript. The
- Postscript binary driver interprets EOF differently than
- the regular Postscript driver.
