  7. INFORMATION:   These third party-supplied patches for NetWare 386 v3.1
  8.                LOGIN.EXE and SMODE.EXE, have not been test or endorsed by
  9.                Novell, but everyone needs to be aware of them:

  18.           The version of LOGIN.EXE, shipped with NetWare 386 v3.10a, has a
  19.           bug in processing the login script EXIT command which can cause
  20.           system hangups with programs and device drivers that expand or
  21.           modify the keyboard buffer.  This is a user supplied (NON-Novell)
  22.           patch for LOGIN.EXE to correct the problem.

  31.           The SMODE.EXE that shipped with NetWare 386 v3.10a has a bug in
  32.           it that prevents it from setting a search mode to any executable
  33.           file that has a filename (less path and extension) that is longer
  34.           than five characters.  (For example, 12345.EXE will work, but
  35.           123456.EXE will fail.)  This file includes a user supplied
  36.           (NON-Novell) patch to fix SMODE.EXE.
