  6. GENERAL 
  7. INFORMATION:   Trustee assignments are not stored in the bindery files. 
  8.                They are linked to the bindery information but are
  9.                physically stored with the directory entry. 
  10.   
  11.                What does this mean?  That you cannot do a BINDFIX; copy the
  12.                *.OLD files and take them to another file server and expect
  13.                to get the trustee assignments or any other variation on
  14.                this.
  15.   
  16.                If you want to backup just the binderies and the trustee
  17.                assignments, the best way is with LARCHIVE or NBACKUP or a
  18.                tape drive using the following techniques. 
  19.   
  20.                LARCHIVE - Select to INCLUDE all directories and EXCLUDE all
  21.                files.  This process is described in Appendix A of the
  22.                "Network Backup" document by the Systems Research Department
  23.                of Novell. 
  24.   
  25.                NBACKUP - Selecting "Backup Bindery" does not backup trustee
  26.                assignments!  By selecting "Backup File Server" and saying
  27.                yes to "Backup Trustees" and by saying *.* to "Files to
  28.                Exclude", you will get the binderies and the trustee
  29.                assignments.

  31. COMMENTS:      When running the 386 UPGRADE utility, customers will flag to
  32.                backup the binderies only.  Then they restore the data and
  33.                assume the trustee assignments will all be there which of
  34.                course they are not. They need to upgrade the file server
  35.                directory structure also.  The option is called "Transfer
  36.                File Server". 
  37.  
  38.                Also TARCHV.ARC in library 6 on NetWire lets you backup and
  39.                restore trustee assignments.
