  2.                                 VERSION HISTORY

  4.      Version 2.00  of the  940 Spoiler  (94SPL200.EXE), released  15  November,
  5. 1990, is  the second  release of the 940 Spoiler.  It is preceded only by beta-
  6. test-only Version 1.01, released 15 August 1990.

  8.      Version 2.00 includes the design of both standard and high-density screens
  9. to specifically complement and augment the features of the TS-940S.
  10.  
  11. 1.   An alternate  high-density display  on a  keyboard toggle  that shows  all
  12.      transceiver operating  parameters, as  well as  40 virtual  memories, on a
  13.      single screen.    Virtual  memories  may  be  individually  copied  to  or
  14.      exchanged with real memories, or they may as a whole group be swapped with
  15.      real memories to effectively provide the TS-940S with 80 current memories.

  17. 2.   Numeric-keypad control  of main tuning and increment tuning.  VFOs altered
  18.      during tuning  may (optionally) be left in their altered state or restored
  19.      to their original state.

  21. 3.   Keypad control  of transmitting  (a  feature  which  may  be  disabled  on
  22.      installation).
  23. 4.   Advanced scanning  capabilities that  provide memory  scanning, frequency-
  24.      range ("programmed")  scanning, and  any combination of both that you care
  25.      to program.  You specify the delays for group scanning individually within
  26.      up to  six groups,  and you specify the range-scanning speed for up to six
  27.      ranges.

  29. 5.   Enhanced  color  graphic  display  that  uses  intensity  highlighting  to
  30.      dynamically illuminate  current operating  parameters.    Highlighting  by
  31.      reverse-video is provided as an installation option for LCD displays.

  33. 6.   A new  installation program (94INS200.EXE) that permits easy configuration
  34.      of the program for hardware and operating features.
  35.  
  36. 7.   A  clear-cut   distinction  between  the  program  features  available  in
  37.      shareware examination  copies and  those available  in registered  copies.
  38.      Registered  copies   include   the   following   enhancements;   shareware
  39.      examination copies do not.

  41.      A.   Transmit keying from the keyboard.

  43.      B.   Use of keypad accelerator and decelerator keys during tuning.

  45.      C.   Between-session saving of edited scan information.

  47.      D.   Opening of memory files not specified during installation.

  49.      We hope you enjoy version 2 of the 940 Spoiler.  Even the examination copy
  50. without enhanced features offers considerably greater operating convenience (or
  51. necessity) than  commercial packages  provide.   Registered copies,  of course,
  52. make the commercial competition work a little harder at the same time that they
  53. help improve the Spoiler further beyond any commercial competitive packages.
