- FUNCTION: Searches for specified character strings in text files.

- FORMAT: TS [filespec] [search-text] [/S][/T] [options] or
- TS [search-text] /D or
- TS [search-text] /E [options]

- REMARKS: filespec specifies the files to be searched, and it may include drive
- and path specifications and global characters. If omitted, you are
- prompted for entry of a filespec.
- search-text is the character string to be searched for, and should be
- enclosed in quotes if longer than one word. If omitted, you are
- prompted for entry of search-text. The serach is case-insensitive.
- /S includes all sub-directories under the specified filespec in the
- search.
- /T sets the non-interactive summary total mode, which only lists the
- files in which search-text is found. Otherwise, the search pauses and
- displays the area in the file in which the string is found.
- /D causes the search for search-text to cover the entire disk.
- /E causes the search to cover only those files that have been erased
- from the disk.
- options can be any of the following:
- /LOG to format the output for redirection to a printer or file.
- /EUR to select the European character set.
- /EBCDIC to select the IBM mainframe data display mode.
- /N adapts the output for non-IBM PC computers.
