- COMMAND: DT (Disk Test)
-
- FUNCTION: Tests a disk to ensure that it is not damaged and performs some
- damage repair.
-
- FORMAT: DT [d:] [option-switches] [/LOG]
-
- TYPE: Norton Utilities command
-
- REMARKS: /F tests all files, /D tests a complete disk, and /B tests both
- files and the complete disk on the specified or current drive.
- /LOG records the results of the tests in a format suitable for
- redirection to a file or to the printer.
- If DT finds unreadable sectors on a disk, it reports where they are
- and allows the user to have them marked as "bad sectors". DT differs
- from the DOS command CHKDSK in that DT actually reads every sector
- specified by the option, whereas CHKDSK tests primarily for disorder
- in a disk's space allocation.
