  4.   Shuttlecraft are used solely for exploring star systems within a
  5.      quadrant.  They are the only vessels which can approach a star
  6.      without being destroyed.  On return from their exploratory
  7.      missions, you will be informed of their findings, which may range
  8.      from virulent diseases which will decimate your crew, to
  9.      technological improvements which will increase your fighting
  10.      capability.  You have 2 shuttlecraft, but only 1 may be used at a
  11.      time.  A starbase may have a replacement for one of them if you
  12.      are lucky.
