  15. DESCRIPTION
  16.      This manual page documents the GNU version of chgrp.   chgrp
  17.      changes  the group ownership of each given file to the named
  18.      group, which can be either a group name or a  numeric  group
  19.      ID.

  21.   OPTIONS
  22.      -_c, --_c_h_a_n_g_e_s
  23.           Verbosely describe only files whose ownership  actually
  24.           changes.
  25.  
  26.      -_f, --_s_i_l_e_n_t, --_q_u_i_e_t
  27.           Do not print error messages about files whose ownership
  28.           cannot be changed.
  29.  
  30.      -_v, --_v_e_r_b_o_s_e
  31.           Verbosely describe ownership changes.

  33.      -_R, --_r_e_c_u_r_s_i_v_e
  34.           Recursively change ownership of directories  and  their
  35.           contents.

  37.      The long-named options can be introduced with `+' as well as
  38.      `--',  for compatibility with previous releases.  Eventually
  39.      support for `+' will be removed, because it is  incompatible
  40.      with the POSIX.2 standard.
