  13.    This  is  a  solid  and polished rewrite of the original `Zoom' 4.2
  14. program.  Many (lots of!) bugs have been fixed and new features added.
  15. Unlike  the previous release this revision has survived intensive beta
  16. testing across the last few months.
  17.    The file format `Zoom' outputs has changed substancially and can no
  18. longer be decompressed by older `Zoom' releases.  Nevertheless, `Zoom'
  19. 5.3a will still read and decompress older style archives.

  23.    This  release is being distributed in the form of a self-extracting
  24. archive  file.  To obtain the distribution files, enter the Shell/CLI,
  25. type  `Zoom53a.SFX'  and  press  return,  the  following files will be
  26. created in the current directory:

  36.    Use  the  CRC  utility  to  verify  if the `Zoom53a.SFX' file is in
  37. correct  state  (enter  `CRC Zoom53a.SFX' and press return).  The WRAP
  38. checksums of all executable files (Zoom and CRC) should be zero.

  40.    For  those  who  need  to  write additional file integrity checking
  41. tools, I have provided a separate tool, it is included (along with the
  42. `C' source code) in the Support directory:
