- The Record Dialog Box is used to record .wav files for System Sounds.

- The High Input checkbox allows recording at high or low input. When checked
- this indicated to the system to record at a high input level.

- The Monitor checkbox allows the recording to be monitored through the audio
- speakers on the audio board. When it is checked monitoring is enabled.

- The Time display indicates the length of the recording in minutes, seconds,
- milliseconds.

- The Sample Rate radio buttons allow for the selection of different sampling
- rates for recording. They are 11.025 kHz, 22.050 kHz or 44.100 kHz. The
- higher the sampling rate, the broader the recorded frequency range and the
- larger the generated .wav file.

- Select the Rewind push button causes the recorder to rewind to the beginning of
- the .wav file for either re record or play.

- Select the Stop push button causes the recorder to stop record or play.

- Select the Play push button causes the recorder to play the current .wav file.

- Select the Record push button causes the recorder to begin recording. This will
- destroy the current recording. Be sure to Save the current recording before
- selecting Record a second time.

- The Input radio buttons indicate the audio source for recording. The audio may
- be recorded from line in or microphone.

- The Resolution radio buttons allow for the selection of data resolution in
- recording. Either 8 or 16 bits per sample may be selected. The higher the
- recording resolution the better the representation of the original wave form
- amplitude.

- The Channels radio buttons indicate the number of channels to be recorded.
- Either mono or stereo may be selected.

- Select the OK push button dismissed the dialog without saving the recorded .wav
- file.

- Select the New push button resets the recorder to allow recording of a new
- file. All current settings remain as selected.

- Select the Save push button to bring up the standard file save dialog, then
- enter a file name. The file should be saved with a .wav suffix.

- Select the Help push button to view this help panel.
