  1. FATALEXIT CODE x0401 WHEN TRYING TO EXECUTE WINOS2

  4.    Symptom:     Above error message whenever WIN-OS2 is started.  May
  5.                 flash by user without user being able to record
  6.                 error. You can have user start up a DOS Fullscreen
  7.                 and start WIN at the command line to verify that this
  8.                 is the problem.

  11.    Problem:     Missing .DRV, or .DLL in the \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2 or
  12.                 \OS2\MDOS\WINOS2\SYSTEM directory.  OS/2 probably did
  13.                 not install these correctly. (I got this err msg by
  14.                 erasing VGA.DRV in the SYSTEM directory)

  17.    Resolution:  Have user redirect DIR listings of the two
  18.                 directories above by the command:
  19.  
  20.                         DIR > LPT1
  21.  
  22.                 Once the user has this information he can go back and
  23.                 compare his WIN.INI and SYSTEM.INI to see what
  24.                 file(s) are missing.  The INI files are located in
  25.                 the first directory noted above.
