- A synonym for the term "floppy disk". Each diskette
- ███████████████ drive has a default capacity (see below), but can
- ██████████████▌ usually read other diskettes of the same size and
- ██████▌ ▐██████ lesser capacity. A drive can occasionally write to a
- ███████▀███████ diskette of lesser capacity, but only rarely can it
- ███████░███████ be used with the FORMAT or BACKUP command to create
- ███████▄███████ a diskette that can reliably be read by a lesser
- capacity drive.
