  7. Please provide the following information to the NIC Domain Registrar.

  11.    Please Note: The key contacts will be registered in the NIC WHOIS
  12.    database.  If these individuals are not already registered, this
  13.    will be done at the time of domain registration.  In addition,
  14.    these individuals should have electronic mailboxes.  Complete
  15.    information should be provided below for individuals not already
  16.    registered.

  18.    1) The name of the top level domain to join.

  20.       For example:  EDU

  22.    (2) The NIC handle (a unique NIC WHOIS database identifier), if
  23.    known, of the administrative head of the organization.
  24.    Alternately, the person's name, title, mailing address, phone
  25.    number, organization, and network mailbox.  This is the contact
  26.    point for administrative and policy questions about the domain.  In
  27.    the case of a research project, this should be the principal
  28.    investigator.

  64.    (4) The name of the domain (up to 12 characters).  This is the name
  65.    that will be used in tables and lists associating the domain with
  66.    the domain server addresses.  (Shorter names are easier for people
  67.    to cope with.)

  71.    5)  A description of the servers that provide the domain service for
  72.    translating name to address for hosts in this domain, and the date
  73.    they will be operational.

  75.       A good way to answer this question is to say "Our server is
  76.       supplied by person or company X and does whatever their standard
  77.       issue server does".

  79.          For example:  Our server is a copy of the server operated by
  80.          the NIC, and will be installed and made operational on

  83.    (6) Domains must provide at least two independent servers for the
  84.    domain.  Establishing the servers in physically separate locations
