  8.    Uses the ALT key to activate the menu bar; this conflicts with the
  9.    DESQ key.  This is not a problem unless you are trying to do a TRANSFER
  10.    into the Desktop window.  Since the Desktop menu activates every time
  11.    you hit the DESQ key, transfers into the window will go to the menu.
  12.    Setting the DESQ key to the CTRL key solves this.

  16.    This parameter tells Desktop to go into 350 line mode on a VGA system.
  17.    This option produces no results in a virtualized window and probally
  18.    adds overhead not needed.  If you are running in a NON-virtualized
  19.    window then the results are as expected.  If you use a program that
  20.    uses ASCII 176-178 to produce a background 'grid', the 350 line
  21.    parameter simply eliminates the white space between the characters
  22.    when you place them next to each other.

  24.    Memory Size

  26.    Desktop seems to need a minimum of 312k before you stop getting
  27.    insufficient memory messages (311k produces a load error) using
  28.    MS DOS 3.30.  This stays the same whether have DESQview load it
  29.    or COMMAND.COM.  I ran all of my tests at this memory size and
  30.    was able to access all of Desktop's options simultaneously.
  31.    Large documents or databases would probally require settings
  32.    much higher than this.

  34.    Summary: All functions of Desktop appeared to work well either standalone
  35.    or when running combinations of its different features on both an
  36.    IBM model 55sx and an AST Premium 286.

  40.    No problems noted with PC-CACHE using expanded memory on PS/2 Model 55sx
