- INSTRUCTIONS
- The main menu gives the following options:

- INSTRUCTIONS -This is it!

- BACKGROUND -Some background text which explains the program.

- RECORD A GAME -Store a game, with or without notes.
- First, make sure that the disk is unprotected whenever you write to disk.
- Follow the instructions and click on the piece you want to move and the
- square you want to move it to. If you want to add notes at any stage, click
- in the "Notes" window, and add as many lines of notes as you wish.
- To end the game, click in the chessboard window, without clicking on the
- board. Clicking in the chessboard window off the board will abort a move
- after the first click.

- To finish recording a game click in the text window.

- PLAY A GAME -The details of the games which are currently stored will appear
- on the screen. You may choose to display only the games which include a
- specific detail by typing in a "search-string".
- You can search for games by white player,black player,event,year,opening or
- any other details which are stored. You can type in a word, part of a word
- or several words.

- For example, you could list all the games which involved a SICILIAN.
- All game details which include the word "sicilian" will be displayed.
- If you press the return key without typing in anything, all games will be
- displayed.

- Choose one of these games by clicking on it with the mouse.
- This will highlight the current line. Click again or hit any key, to start
- playing. To bypass a page click below the bottom line of the page. This will
- take you to the next page. If you go pass the last page you will return to
- the start.

- Play a move of the game by clicking the left mouse button or hitting any
- key. When you reach the end of the game you will be asked if you wish to add
- moves. This is mainly for correspondence players who are adding moves to a
- game.

- EDIT GAME -This allows you to change any moves that may have been recorded
- incorrectly. It also allows you to change or add to any notes that you have
- written. First you will select a game as per usual. Then you choose the line
- you wish to edit by clicking on it.

- You then choose either overstrike or insert edit mode and change or delete
- the current line. When deleting, use the backspace key to move the cursor to
- the leftmost column after you have deleted the line.
- To finish editing and change the current changes click near the bottom of the
- page. This will take you to the next page. If you are on the last page you
- will be asked whether you want to save the game or not. If not, you will
- return to the start of the game.

- FLIP BOARD -Set white at bottom or at the top of the board.

- SET DELAY -Speed through a game quickly or slowly. You can choose the game
- to proceed quickly through the game. While the delay is active, clicking
- the left mouse button or hitting any key, will cause one move to be
- played. While going throough fast, hitting any key will return you to delay
- mode.

- PRINT -Print a game out on a printer(if you have one).

- QUIT -Leave program

- At some stages in the program you will be presented with a Yes/No decision.
- Simply click in the box of your choice.
