  7. What These Diskettes Do
  8. -----------------------
  9. The Utility Diskettes 1, 2, and 3 provide the following
  10. utility programs for OS/2, DOS, Windows 3.1, and Windows 95:
  11.  - ThinkPad Features program (setup program)
  12.  - Fuel-Gauge program
  13.  - Docking Control program
  14.  - Personalization Utility program

  89.           The screen is no longer set to the 800x600 resolution
  90.           when you select 1024x768, 256color, and 75Hz by the

  94.  - (Fix)  The display device is no longer set to CRT-only
  95.           after the Cancel button in the ThinkPad Features program
  96.           main window is clicked.

  98.           APM (advanced power management) reports a different
  99.           remaining time from that of the Fuel-Gauge program,
  100.           when the Fuel-Gauge has not set it for the LCD panel.

  102.           The Video CD format cannot be recognized by the computer
  103.           when the Bus-Master IDE driver is installed.
  104.  - (Restriction)  (For Windows 95 only)
  105.           When the Adaptec driver and Bus-Master IDE driver
  106.           are installed, Windows 95 may report the trap D or E
  107.           intermittently when the computer is attached to
  108.           the docking station (hot docking).

  110.  - (Fix) The PS2 IR address command now works
  111.          when the infrared is disabled.
  112.  - (Fix) Support for the year 2000 is now correct in PS2.EXE.

  227. Installation Guide
  228. ------------------
  229. (For OS/2)
  230.   1. Start OS/2; then insert the Utility Diskette 2 into
  231.      the diskette drive.
  232.   2. Install the ThinkPad System Management device driver as follows:
  233.    (a) Open the System Setup folder in the OS/2 System folder.
  234.    (b) Select Device Driver Install and click on the Install...
  235.        button.
  236.    (c) Click on ThinkPad System Management Device Driver;
  237.        then click on OK.
  238.   3. Remove the Utility Diskette 2 from the diskette drive;
  239.      then insert the Utility Diskette 1.
  240.   4. Open the OS/2 screen command prompt.
  241.   5. Go to the A:\ prompt and type INSTALL2; then press Enter.
  242.   6. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  243.  
  244. (For DOS)
  245.   1. Start DOS.
  246.   2. Insert the Utility Diskette 1 into the diskette drive;
  247.      then type A:UINSTALL and press Enter.
  248.   3. Press Enter.
  249.   4. Select Install DOS ThinkPad Features at the Installation
  250.      Options screen; then follow the instructions on the screen.

  252. (For Windows 3.1)
  253.   1. Start Windows 3.1.
  254.   2. Select File from the Program Manager window; then select
  255.      Run... from the pull-down menu.
  256.   3. Insert the Utility Diskette 1 into the diskette drive;
  257.      then type A: INSTALLW and press Enter.
  258.   4. Follow the instructions on the screen.
  259.      Default choices are already highlighted at the Installation
  260.      Options screen.

  264.   Note: If you installed Windows 95 on a computer in which Windows 3.1
  265.         and the ThinkPad Features program were already installed,
  266.         the ThinkPad Features program is migrated into the Start Menu
  267.         of Windows 95 automatically.

  269.   1. Start Windows 95.
  270.   2. Insert the Utility Diskette 1 into the diskette drive.
  271.   3. Click on Start; then click on Run...
  272.   4. Type A:INSTALLW and click on OK.
