- Paul Hughes~ Web site read-me file:
-
- A bit for you AF people:
- I have a reader`s request to add to the readme:Please could you put
- Battle-craft(you know,the warcraft 2 lookalike)on yuor next cd,because I
- lost the files of the game through accidential deletion!Thanks.
-
- most of the text you now is on the proper readme but there is bits for your
- eyes only.....
-
- hello and Welcome to the read-me file!If you have already looked at the web
- site then you may have seen, that in the first page(which is 1.HTM)there are
- some bits saying look at the read-me file.If not it doesn`t matter.
-
- Some history about the Web Site:
- It was started about a year ago when our school got a web-page authoring
- program(some of you may know it as Front-Page editor.And I know that I may be
- betraying the Amiga but at the time there was nothing like Front-Page on the
- Amiga)
- Everyone wanted a go at making their own site,including me.
-
- In the beginning,it contained only Star Trek News and sounds(yes,I am a
- Trekkie or a trekker.I don`t know which is the right term.)then when I got my
- Amiga 1200 for my 14th birthday,I began to include some Amiga stuff, such as
- little reviews of the software I had got with the Amiga 1200.Slowly and
- surely,the PC-owning people started to moan about me covering the Amiga when
- there was a "better" machine out on the market.
-
- this actually made me mad,and then becuse they conplained so much,I decided
- to dedicate the whole site to the Amiga.In turn this made them mad,and so
- loads of PC pages turned up.The sad part is that they all had the same
- pictures and the same stories!!!!
-
- Now my web site is the best site on our school web because it has varity,and
- is well presented.
-
- A bit more about the site....
- It has some news which to you may be dated but it took me a while to come
- with the news and reviews so Don`t complain too much!!!!!
-
- What you need to see the web site:
- A web page browser and enough RAM to see the pictures.And the workbench
- would have to be 256 colours because of the IFF graphics.
- .Also You have to look at the cool Netscape
- animation in the other news and bits page!(It is a GIF,so you need the
- GIF datatype on your workbench.And maybe an amin datatype.I don`t know.)
- I lost the Shadow of the 3rd Moon Page
- during file transfer,so I have had to improvise.And edit the whole site
- again!!!!So now there is the Other News and bits page!!
-
- I don`t have a lot of knowledge about HTML,apart from the following:
- <p>=starts a paragraph.
- </p>=ends the paragraph.
- <u>=underlines the line(s)
- </u>=stops the underlining.
- and there is a little more but I don`t have much time before I post this
- site to you lot.(I have only begun to try and learn the HTML language so
- please bear with me!!
-
- I made the Mainmenu,the Games News and Previews Page and the Shadow of
- the 3rd Moon page of the site at school,but I have made extensive changes at
- some of the pages at home on my Amiga(templated)The Games tips page is so far the
- the first page that I have succesfully compleated first time
- .The pictures links were shot because
- of the file transfer of the pages from school,so I
- had to modifey those.Ans I transferred most of the pictures to IFF format so
- that lesser-equipped Amigas could still view some of the pictures.......
-
- I MUST STRESS THAT THIS IS A CUT DOWN VERSION OF THE SITE. AND IT IS NOT ON
- THE INTERNET SO YOU CAN`T VISIT THE FULL WEB SITE UNLESS YOU ATTEND HAWARDEN
- HIGH SCHOOL!
-

- again to Amiga Format.
-
- thank you.Oh and if you have any trek news I would be grateful.
