- INGREDIENTS ------------------------------------------------------------

- 2 cup Apples - cooking - chopped
- 3/4 cup Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Flour
- 1 cup Freshly soured cream
- 1 ea Beaten egg
- 1/2 tsp Vanilla
- 1/8 tsp Salt

- DIRECTIONS ------------------------------------------------------------

- Chop apples fine, mix sugar and flour, add cream, beaten egg, vanilla
- and salt, and beat until smooth. Add chopped apples and mix. Pour into
- pastry lined pan, bake 15 minutes in hot oven 450 F., reduce heat to
- 325 F. and continue to bake until pie is somewhat firm in center.
- Remove from oven and cover with the following crumb mixture.
- Crumb Mixture:
- 1/2 c. sugar
- 1/3 c. flour
- 1 t. cinnamon
- 1/4 c. butter
- Work to crumbly mass and spread over pie. Return to oven and bake for
- about 10 minutes.
