General settings for external audio tools.
One can use external tools instead of TMPGEnc's built-in functions if desired. External MPEG audio converters and sampling frequency converters are supported.
-[Environmental Settigns]
- Layer-2 (MPEG-Audio Encoder)
- Check the box to enable using an external MPEG-1 Audio Layer-2 instead of the TMPGEnc's internal encoder.
MAENC (maenc.exe), tooLAME (tooLAME.exe), and SCMPX (SCMPX.exe) are supported as external Layer-2 encoders. The external encoder may need to be configured as well to avoid unexpected results.
Layer-3 (MPEG-Audio Encoder)
- Check the box to enable using an external MPEG-1 Audio Layer-3 (mp3) instead of the TMPGEnc's internal encoder.
LAME (LAME.exe), L3ENC (L3ENC.exe), MP3ENC (mp3enc.exe), 8hz-mp3 (8hz-mp3.exe), and SCMPX (SCMPX.exe) are supported as external Layer-3 encoders. The external encoder may need to be configured as well to avoid unexpected results.
Sample Frequency Converter
- In the case that a source movie has a different sampling frequency than the desired output, one may want to use this to change the sampling frequency. Normally, TMPGEnc's internal encoder will work, but there are some
extraordinary cases when an external converter is useful.
SCMPX (SCMPX.exe), wavefs44 (wavefs44.exe), WTC (WTC.exe), and Shibatch Sampling Rate Converter (SSRC.exe) are supported as external sampling frequency converters. The external converter may need to be configured as well to avoid unexpected results.
