TMPGEnc's general settings.
TMPGEnc's general settings are contained in this window.
-[Environment Settings]
- Enable multiplex with "mux://file name" for a video/audio source.
- Click to enable using the form "mux://" to mean multiplex streams in source file edit boxes.
"Check" the box to merge MPEG files without re-encoding.
This is disabled by default.
Edit bitrate by bps, not kbps
- TMPGEnc normally displays bitrates in kbpsi1000bpsj, check this box to display units in bps.
Do not access files via OS cache functions.
- The OS reads files into memory in order to have faster access times. This is usually a good thing, but not in the case when a file needs to accessed directly. If one is using VFAPI plugins, one should check this box.
Advanced Operating Systems (OS) such as Windows2000 or WindowsXP read user space files into memory to give faster access times to those files. This is usually a good thing; however, in the case where more than one program could be accessing the file, such in the case of VFAPI plugins, one can't
guarantee the validity of the cached data.
One should check this box when one wants to be sure that the data in the file, is actually coming from the file.
This is normally disabled.
Enable reading referred AVI through the network (Canopus DV Codec)
- This feature is always enabled, and cannot be disabled.
AVI files have a maximum size of 2gigs. In order to get around this, larger files are often saved into
sequential parts. This feature let's TMPG automatically use
sequentially saved files.
This is needed for the Canopus DV CODEC.
Interpolate YUV 4:1:1 data into 4:4:4 data (Canopus DV Codec)
- Captured DV video is in the 4:1:1 format which may cause some of the reds to stand out. TMPGEnc can normalize the data to YUV 4:4:4 through interpolation.
This only needs to be enabled if the Canopus DV CODEC is used.
Set equation for color space (Canopus DV Codec)
- YUV equation used by TMPGEnc can be selected to be "Basic YCbCr", "CCIR-601", or normal "YUV".
This only affects the Canopus DV CODEC.
Enable reading referred AVI through the network (Panasonic and I-O
DATA GigaAVI CODEC)
- This feature is always enabled, and cannot be disabled. This allows sequential AVI files to be handled automatically.
This option only affects the DV Giga CODEC.
Output File
- Set the output filename and folder for the video.
Temporary Files
- Set the folder to use for TMPGEnc's temporary files. TMPGEnc does not use the OS temporary files; however, TMPGEnc temporary files can exist in the same directory as the OS's files.
TMPGEnc's temporary files can become rather large, and it's best to select a directory one the drive with the most free space.
"OK" Button
- Close the window and save the new settings.
"Cancel" Button
- Close the window and discard any changes.
