Combine multiple MPEG audio and video files into one MPEG movie.
Multiplex has the same functionality as "Simple Multiplex", but with multiple file capability. Both a video and audio component are required to multiplex the streams correctly. If one desires to view the audio and video components before
multiplexing, Windows Media Player 6.x works well. Windows Media Player 7.x no longer has the ability to view
separate streams.
-[MPEG Tool]
- Stream Type
- Select the output stream type.
Normally, one will want [MPEG-1 System (Auto)], which is the default, or [MPEG-2 (VBR)] for the stream type; however, TMPGEnc will automatically select the most appropriate output stream type after the video source is selected as well.
The [MPEG Settings] window's [System] tab contains various settings for the "System" type stream.
Stream List
- Displays the streams to multiplex into one output stream. One can reorder the streams by dragging.
Output File
- Select the name and location of the output file. Click the "Browse" button to browse the file tree.
- "Add" Button
- Add another video or audio component to be multiplexed. For the output file to be produced correctly, both an audio and video component at a minimum must be added to the list.
When a file is added to the list, information about that file is displayed to the right of the filename.
"Remove" Button
- Select a file from the list and click this button to remove a stream for the list.
"Clear" Button
- Clicking this button clears the stream list.
"Apply" Button
- Click to create the MPEG output file from the streams in the stream list.
"Close" Button
- Click to close the "MPEG Tool" window and discard the settings.
